The TOP 7.....
1- Chris Wedding -My question is when you broke your neck in ECW, what was going through your mind at that time?
I have to try to finish this match! I lost feeling temporarily in my body than around 20 or 30 seconds later it came back....I knew something went wrong and it was scary as hell.
2- Phil Sparagna -Do you still practice martial arts?
Unfortunately I do not. Once my career in ECW started to really kick in I had no real time to train in a dojo. I still miss it (my nagging injuries don't help neither). The cool thing is my son is pretty heavily involved with Youth MMA since he's 6 years old during the baseball off-season so I work with him at home when he isn't training at his dojo. I have a gym at home with a wrestling mat in it were him and I drill. He has competed in a couple of tournaments and placed....pretty tough kid, we are very proud of him!
3- Bryan Tann -In the old ECW who was the one guy that was just the biggest asshole? Who was somebody that NOBODY liked, and always wondered 'How the hell did this jerk get here?'
I hate to admit this but I'm gonna shoot straight with you, I was probley the biggest A-Hole back in the original ECW days. I don't think most of the locker room "liked" me....and they shouldn't have. At times, I was a bit immature and difficult to deal with....it took me a long time to "make it" and I was always told I would NEVER make it in the industry and that motivated me but also developed a huge chip on my shoulder so I wasn't mature enough (sometimes) to handle the push and was very protecting of what I achieved. If I had to do it all over again, I would put a better effort in being humble! Life experiences and settling down has taught me to not take myself so serious.
4-Steve 'sza' Kasan -How did you come up with the catch phrase: Beat Me If you Can, Survive if I let you?
Well it was a combination of Paul E and myself. We were in the infamous basement of Ron Buffone's (ECW TV Producer) parents house (which was our studio) taping promos at around 2:00am on a Monday night and Paul was the one who came up with the front end of the catch phrase and added the Survive if I let you....but mostly Paul.
5-Mark Romanovitch -How did you decide to use the "Tazmission" as your finisher?
I wanted to be different. I wanted to use a submission hold that wasn't the typical Figure Four or Boston Crab type submission. So I went to my Judo back round and used the Kata Ha Jime (the authentic Japanese name). I also picked the Tazmission because I knew I could use it on anyone....no matter how big or small....that is extremely important. That is how I also came up with winning a match via "Tap Out"...no one had done that in the U.S. in Pro Wrestling on TV up to that point. I was a big fan of PANCRASE (Japanese Pro Wrestling /MMA company in the 90's, they were UFC before UFC) back than and wanted to incorporate some of there concepts in my style in regards to being a "hybrid fighter".
6- Jason Cobb -My question is who do you think has the best entrance to the ring. You know the business, who does it best?
As far as music probably Edge & HHH.....but my all time favorite was the Ding Dongs of early WCW fame. Bad joke...in all seriousness, the best music and entrance Ive ever heard & witnessed LIVE was the Undertaker @ Wrestlemaina when Limp Biscuit performed "Rollin" LIVE....amazing!
7- Ryan Sorokowski - Taz what did you think of The Wrestler movie ?
Great movie, but sad. Mickey Rourke accurately portrayed a wrestler past his prime that made mistakes along the way with is money and his family...very real!! Unfortunately I know many guys who ended up like Randy The Ram....and sadly several of them aren't with us anymore.
FTW
