Very hypothetical question I know but what do you think professional wrestling would be like today if WCW actually did things right, managed to beat Vince and Co. and put them out of business? Just wondering. I, personally, have no idea.

Honestly I can't even imagine it other than we'd probably be on the 112th incarnation of the nWo.

If it would've happened I can say one thing the NWO would've had to been dead and buried

Might have seen more focus on in-ring action. Or they would have eventually pissed off their audience like the WWE did in 2001.

What we've got today with the brand split and stale product but, under WCW control and names instead of WWE.

I think the more interesting question, is what would have happened if Jerry Jarrett's consortium rather than Vince had succeeded in buying WCW in 2001.
They offered 70 Million, but Turner had already accepted an offer for just 5 million.

There was an article penned by some wrestling writer in early 2001 suggesting a new direction in product that was doing the rounds a while ago... apparently Mike Tenay had taken it to the booking team and they were pretty high on the concept. I can't find it just now, but hopefully someone knows the one I mean. Now that was a hypothetical situation I'd have liked to see play out

Honestly? With TimeWarners hatred of wrestling (other the Turner of course) pro wrestling as we know it would likely be dead. WCW would have been canned eventually regardless.

I remember reading it and thinking it was interesting. I think I've still got it somewhere, I'll try and post it up.

Well I do believe that had Bischoff been the guy booking the post war invasion angle for the victorious WCW, than I belive it would have drawn money for at least a year. This would cause the time warner group to keep them on air, this means a demand for more product, the amount of talent available and money behind it would create a brand extention or at least the need for one. WCW guys would no doubt absorb some of the marketing gurus from the wwf's death and become an absolute Juggernaut. Then it would grow stale with out competition and the wrestling buble would burst. Sound familiar?

It would pretty much be where the WWE is now, stale and out of bringing anything new to the table. Oh, and Jeff Jarrett would've been a 20 time World champion and TNA would cease to be.

Hogan will still be full time and main eventing every PPV. Flair would of lost a retirement match 20 times and come back a month later.

Well its hard to say, because WCW was about to start the "Big Bang" and change the product completely. (Which would have probably just ended up another NB/MC thing)

we'd have Cruiserweight tag team champions- and no luchador would wear a mask.

WCW wasn't as writer-heavy. With more freedom, there's a chance some younger workers would have hit on something entertaining by now.
