I hit one up Saturday and picked up...
The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA DVD for $5 The 2008 Rock DVD for $9.95 and the first two volumes of ICP's JCW for $1 each.
I'm not even sure if I'll watch the latter, but my bro and friend like that stuff.
Once I get some more free cash, I need to return as they have two of the Summerslam boxed sets (1998-2002 and 2003-2007) for $9.95 each as well as quite a few more $5 DVDs, although most were just later non-important PPVs.
Anyone else get any decent finds lately? It seems with the internet and stuff, it's sorta hard to find much at least around here.

You tell me. Years ago I got a near complete collection of non-PPV Coliseum Video VHS releases. 5 bucks a piece.
Tapes like Rampage '92, Invasion Of The Bodyslammers, etc...
Some rare matches on there. Lots of filler, but good stuff too.

I remember those times if the VHS rads. Getting PPV events for 5 bucks was awesome. I got stuff like SummerSlam 88, Suivior Series 91, and Capital Cabat 90 (I think was the year, it had Luger vs. Flair in a cage) I also got a lot of those Non PPV tapes. Like Rampage 91, World Tour 91 and some other one. All I remember it having Taker, Slaughter, and Adian vs. Warrior and Hogan.

That's a very good deal.
The last video store we had die in my area had only been around a year or so. They started off strong then jacked their prices through the roof for no reason (there is a Movie Gallery and Blockbuster within 5 mintues.....very bad move on their part). When I went during their death sale, only wrestling dvd I could find was Ring of Glory: The Great Commission.
Having never heard of that group or anything but knowing most all of the names on the card, I decided to give it a shot as it was only $5. I was pleased with my purchase.
The other video stores around here don't really have wrestling dvds....or wrestling in general. They had the vhs stuff back in the 90's but nothing since.

When I was in high school, a local video store went under and I picked up:
WrestleMania V, VII, X, and XIV WrestleMania The Arcade Game: Video Strategy Guide Summerslam 1995 Bloopers, Bleeps, and Bodyslams
And a bunch of horror movies.
When the Movie Gallery I worked at just out of college went under, I didn't pick up any wrestling, cause they didn't have any, but I did nab a few horror flicks.
The second store I hated, so I was glad to see it go out of business, but I usually get sad when a video store closes down. I love going to video stores more than, say, buying stuff online. Something about just seeing all the videos/DVDs/whatever right in front of me like that is just really cool to me. *shrug*

I hit up one a few years back... fall of '01. It was a book store that rented videos. I ended up picking up a ton of '92-'95 WWF colliseum tapes (almost all non-PPVs), a few '92-'93 WCW PPVs for 3 for $12 and 4 for $12. (The clerk screwed up when they asked someone what the video tapes were and they said "4" meaning $4 each and thought they meant 4 for $12.). I also snagged Rock's autobiography in paperback for under $1. I also got this weird wrestling movie called Wrestling Queen starring Vivian Vachon (I have yet to watch it) for $1. As well as 'Mania Vand V.
Last day, they lower everything to $1 and bust out a box of still sealed clamshell WWF tapes from the original releases. I spent my last $5 on Wrestling's Bloopers, Bleeps and Bodyslams (WF001), Rowdy Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits, 'Mania 2, 'Mania III and Even More Unusual Matches.
The only other one I got to was a guy who used to run the town on video rentals pretty much with three stores around the area before Blockbuster opened up, killing one to the point he sold another one off. He finally "retired" to the first store and I got a few '98 PPVs for $5 and then managed to snag Maximum Impact (aka Canadian Stampede) for $13 and More Saturday Night Main Event and Supertape for $23 (he kept track of what the videos cost and how much he rented them so he'd make a profit. He wanted over $30 for both as I guess they were like $50-$60 tapes but ended up selling them both to me for the cash I had on me. It was worth it just for that Brainbusters vs. Rock 'n Roll Express match.)
Those are where the vast majority of my collection came from, outside of fye's going out of VHS sale and eventual markdown of FMW tapes and DVDs.

I picked up the Flair DVD before the Christmas it came out. Some dude then proceeded to follow me around fye as it was the last copy and I beat him to it. EDIT: Oh, I did get the Hulk Hogan Ultimate Anthology for $5 from the other local video rental store as they lost/damaged the case. Dude even said it was a great deal, but it was store policy to mark anything $4.99 that didn't have the original case.

Oh I use to love when local video stores were going out of business. I'd pounce and pick up whatever wrestling and horror I could find.
When I went to WM11, at the afternoon fan fest they had tons of great videos for $5 (apparently the WWF used it as a good way to clear out the warehouse). I picked up The Wrestling Classic, Supertape, and a few others for cheap. And best of all the booth was being run by....HILLBILLY JIM!! Hillbilly took my money, made change, and bagged my videos! Almost made up for the incredibly bad card that WM11 turned out to be!

When I was growing up the PharMor pharmacy had the video rental section. 99 cents for a weekend.
I rented SummerSlam 1994, Royal Rumble 1995, and several 1996 PPVs so often that when the store closed down and I went to their closing sale, the manager GAVE me the videos. Not sold, not cheaply sold. GAVE. Apparently, according to their records, I had spent at least a hundred dollars between renting the same four or five PPVs on alternating weekends over just a few years. (Of course, there had been many other rentals, but I didn't even come close to my goal of renting every single Super Nintendo game one at a time.)
Those shows weren't any better than the current programming (well, the 1996 ones) but notice how nobody would pay $100 to rent "SummerFest" every weekend for half a decade, even if it was just 99 cents for the weekend. And yes, if I found International Incident today on a shelf I would buy it before I bought any current show.

Man, I thought I had it great back in the day with movie stores. Now that I think back, they never had any NWA/WCW until Hogan came in.
