It is frustrating as hell early in career mode, I just put nearly all my points on submission. When I got to around 50 I started to have a bit of success.
On another note, I officially hate online. I should have around 50 wins but instead I have 35 (I think) due to people disconnecting.
I hope the patch that will be coming out will fix the problem.

I was 14-0 until Frank Mir came along...seriously, it's like they don't even give you a chance to compete with some of these guys.

I enjoy this game. Renting it from Gamefly and I'm tempted to hold onto it for a while.
It's simple and yet, addictive.
I'm not even a fan of UFC or MMA in general!
And yeah, Frank Mir kicked my ass too.

One thing that bugs me is how Dana White is always asking me to sub for a fighter that constantly gets injured, especially after I've been training/sparring/resting before a big matchup.
Also, I don't know how to do submissions. Then again, I might retire the fighter I have (a tall, bald and goateed Russian named Max Power...of course, not his real name).

For submissions you click R3 when in a submission position (which usually is you on your back holding the opponent down in your guard or when on top of your opponent in pretty much any position). Once the submission has been initiated you button mash like crazy, there is another more technical way moving the R3 analog stick but I can never do that.
But you also need a pretty decent submission stat to stand a chance of finishing.

But I'm using the 360 version, not the PS3 version.

Details on the patch have finally come out. I've been waiting for the patch for awhile:

No release date yet...which is unfortunate. I hope it's out soon, cause I've quit playing online for the time being.

I've officially sold Undisputed. It was a noble effort for a first run game. They could've easily just graphically updated the same engine they've been using since '01, but they tried something new and it's not at all bad. Problem is, there's really nothing for the single player. They decided to go the party/online game route and skimped on the rest. Career mode is fun (once or twice), and the classic fights are a good idea, but I can't help but feel that something's missing.
As I said, it was a good first run game. I'm interested to see where this set up takes them. There's so much potential in the game. I just hope it doesn't become like Madden and SvR where you pay year to year for a few fresh faces and the most insignificant tweaks.

The money in fighting games is in multi-player not in the single player experience.

The money in fighting games is in multi-player not in the single player experience. I'm going to disagree. I think some of the best fighting games had great single player. No Mercy, Punch-out Series, SvR, FirePro, Fight Night all had great single player that kept it fun to play and replay. I think just focusing on multi-player is a cop out. I feel UFC was a good game, just got pretty stale real quick.

I love just punking out the CPU in Exhibition, and the career mode is still fun as long as you don't overplay it. Online is really where the game shines though.

I still play Punch Out sometimes (the original NES version), and that game has been out for over 20 years now. Its never gotten stale to me. As a general rule, I hate games that focus on multi-player because most of my friends suck at videogames and I don't play online very often. But fighting and wrestling games are my favorites.

The patch is out by the way. Is that what that update was?? On another note, has anyone ever had a created fighter shrink?? I created Terry Etim who is 6'1 and had around 7 fights when all of a sudden Terry is 6'0. There is also no way of changing height mid career so be I don't know.
