He was also heel in the Portland area, and for a few years in Florida, he was a heel, managed by Gary Hart. Sometime in the 70s he was a heel. Apparently, he was a really good heel too.

Yeah...for a few minutes.....then he got RKO'ed and kinda got some sympathy but at the same time that crowd was chanting for Cody.

Like everyone else said he was a heel with Dick Murdoch as the Outlaws, who he won the AWA tag titles with. They were a pretty over heel tag team, Dusty claimed he couldn't tag with Murdoch anymore because they were too much alike and partying way too hard. Dusty was also relatively thin(compared to his singles career), he was about the same size as Dustin during the better parts of his career.

Yeah...for a few minutes.....then he got RKO'ed and kinda got some sympathy but at the same time that crowd was chanting for Cody. And you could explain it away if you wanted to, given that he drove the point home that he'd do anything for his son, but it's not like he acted as if it hurt him much to nail Triple H with the cowboy boot, which Trips sold wonderfully.
