I was to get your opinions on Ted Dibiase Sr. First I want to say that I don't want this conversation to cross to line into a religious debate whatsoever. But it is apparent that Ted Dibiase is probably the most popular professional wrestlers to thrust back into the spotlight because of his ministry work. What is your take on his critics like Iron Sheik who say that Ted Dibiase's preaching is just a gimmick to get more work since Dibiase had been out of wrestling after he was released from WCW. Again, I am not here to debate Dibiase religious belief's, but here to discuss how sincere Dibiase is as a person towards his motives.
Another critic of Dibiase is Honky Tonk Man. HTM talks about how Dibiase went back to work for WWE after he came out publicly and said he could never work for Vince again. I did watch RF Video's shoot with Dibiase and Ted talked about how appalled he was with Vince having Mae Young expose her breasts on a Pay Per View broadcast. Ironically, right before WWE brought Ted back for a road agent position, he was involved in a backstage skit on one of the Raw anniversary shows. In that segment, Mae Young was attempting to take off her clothes, and then the Million Dollar Man kept offering her more money to put her clothes back on.

Considering that the two people calling out M$M are Shiek (a legit whackjob) and Honky (a major hypocrite himself, not to mention a bitter has been) I'm taking their comments with the tiniest grain of salt. From what I've seen Dibiase seems to be pretty sincere about being born again so more power to him.
IMO, Dibiase has earned a life time pass for what he's done in the wrestling business. He's one of those guys who you don't realize how good they were until they've been gone for awhile, then it hits you. If he wants to run a Christian wrestling fed, fine. If he wants to be a road agent for the E, great. He's got nothing to prove to anybody anymore. So unless he's exposed with concrete evidence that he's a total fraud then he can do whatever he wants, as long as he's happy.

As a pretty major Ted mark and an atheist, I have thought about it. DiBiase seems 100% genuine and sincere to me.
I don't buy what HTM is saying, because you and I both know -- as DiBiase does -- that he could have a job for life at WWE if he wanted it. He's one of Vince's boys through and through, maximum respect backstage, never upset anyone, never played politics, always did his job.
The trouble is: 1. When DiBiase was "brought in as a road agent", he was actually brought in as a member of the creative team. And, well, he's just not a booker. He doesn't have that sort of creative mind. 2. He doesn't want to be an actual road agent because he doesn't want to travel. 3. WWE doesn't use managers anymore, and that is the only other capacity he could work for them in aside from being a GM or a commentator.
Saying that his preaching is a gimmick to get more work is pretty insulting, and exactly the sort of thing you'd expect from Sheik and HTM.
As I understand it, his view of the Million Dollar Man character is that it teaches a basic moral -- so even though he's playing an evil guy, he's doing it for a good purpose. If you accept that, then it's not really hypocritical for him to do the occasional WWE appearance as that character.

Having recently met him (yes, I'm lazy about writing everything out and posting it here), he is absolutely sincere about his motives outside of the ring. I don't know what else to exactly say here since it may wind up hitting the skids.

Nothing wrong with religion or preaching.
When said spiritualism is used to trump certain core religious tenets....that's wrong.
Anyway, Ted is cool. Then again, everyone has a price even me.
BAHAHAHAHA!

Jake The Snake came across as using the religion to get himself back in the spotlight. Dibiase seems like a fair man, and he stayed away from WWE for a while because he lost a loser leaves town match (or the Ringmaster lost the match)
As others have said, Iron Sheik is insane, HTM is a hypocrite. I think part of the allure of getting Dibiase back in the WWE was the fact that he had stayed away for so long. Either HTM or Sheik would be back in at the drop of a hat.

If he wanted to abandon his ministry, I have ZERO doubt WWE would give him a job on the road, as a road agent, GM, whatever. It's pretty clear that he likes working with WWE, but sparingly so as to have time for his church.
