During the biggest push of his career, he was involved in a major motorcycle accident. He never wrestled again.

Yeah it was a car. It wrapped around a tree and it was a small miracle he survived.

Magnum was set up to be the next big thing in the NWA, but the car wreck ended his career and was, to a lot of people, a big part of the downfall of JCP. Magnum was going to be their Hogan, and they never really recovered from losing him

I thought he wrapped it around a pole. Either way it was a really big deal when it happened. Last time I asked here, he is walking again, right?

He owns cell phone towers now or something like that. There's one in Chesapeake, VA. I go by it pretty much every time I go up there.

Yeah growing up in the 80s in the Mid Atlantic area, Magnum was a huge deal. He would have been in Sting's place if he hadn't wrecked. He was such a big babyface. Women loved him for the obvious reasons, and men loved him cause he was a pretty good worker and had some great matches in his short career. Him and Tully in the cage at Starrcade is still one of my fondest and earliest wrestling memories.

Yes, Magnum can walk. Though when you see him walk, it's obvious that the wreck took a major toll on him.
I also seem to remember hearing a story about him at an autograph signing where a fan remarked that they didn't know he (Magnum) was left handed. Magnum replied that he wasn't, he had to learn to write left handed after the accident.

There's no telling how big he would have been if the wreck hadn't happened. Nikita and "MAGGAH-T.A." is one of my favorite feuds of all time.

Magnum was great for the simple reason that he didn't yell and scream during his promos. He was cool and thoughtful, he just said what needed to be said. When he started to yell it was for a good reason and you knew some stuff was going to go down.
