When we think of great (heel) managers the WWF had to offer, we think of legends such as "Classie" Freddie Blassie, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Jimmy Hart amongst others. These men were able to draw heat to themselves and their wrestlers through various tactics such as interviews, cheating on their clients behalf, as well as their character in general.
Then you have Harvey Wippleman. Here's a man who came to the WWF in the early 90s. Perhaps his most credible client was Sid Justice, and that was for 2 months. He managed lowel-level talent such as Big Bully Busick, Adam Bomb, Mr. Hughes and many others.
He did however manage a champion. And that would be Women's champion before Faye. Not only did he manage a Woman's champion, but 4 1/2 years later he became one as Hervina.
As far as one on one feuds go, he had a falling out with Hall of Famer Howard Finkel. This culminated in a tuxedo match, which is something we certainly could've lived without(I feel sorry for anybody who witnessed that softcore gay porn).
So my question is, what was the point of Harvey Wippleman's on-screen role? Did he contribute to anything which is why he was kept around for so long? To me he seems like a fourth Jimmy Hart.
Thoughts?

As a little kid, I totally hated him. I want to rip his little head off. He was just an easy way of having someone talk for the new scary monster in town

He was good on the mic and knew how to get under the skin of fans. He was the voice for guys like Kamala, Warlord, Adam Bomb, Mr. Hughes and Big Bully Busick who may not have been that good with promos, or in Kamala's case, not meant to speak at all.

Big Bully Busick left the WWF before the Survivor Series, so yes, Wippleman debuted before than.

What? Are you serious? I know the 92-3 PPVs kinda like the back of my hand (I grew up with those tapes), I'm fairly positive WMX (or possibly Survivor Series '93 or Rumble '94) was his PPV debut. What was he doing all that time?

I think Sid helped land Wippleman a job with the WWF in 1991 and BBB was the first guy he managed. After BBB left, I want to say he briefly managed Warlord after Slick as well as Sid, then on to Kamala all in 1992.

Strangely enough, he was. I remember specifically seeing Wippleman coming to the ring with BBB.

Was Wippleman actually a doctor?

He was better in Memphis and Continental as Downtown Bruno. Really good promos.

The Downtown Bruno mentioned in Mick Foley's first book? Which part of Foley's book is he in? Bruno/Harvey doesn't wash his clothes and leaves them in a pile, thinking they will be clean later.

Bruno/Harvey doesn't wash his clothes and leaves them in a pile, thinking they will be clean later. And the Laundry Fairy takes them off to be washed and dried? There's a quote I've heard or read from Foley about that. Apparently Bruno/Harvey said something like, "well, they've been there so long I didn't think they could be dirty anymore." Classy guy, clearly.

A lot of people don't give Harvey credit, yes besides Sid maybe he didn't manage major guys, however if you listen to his mic work and watch his promo's he was pure gold, espeically with Kamala, and his feud with The Fink despite being ridiculous was well put together. I'm happy he still works for WWE, he has always been an asset and willing to do anything they ask him to do, he truely is a company guy
