I was inspired by a thread in the WWE board asking who was Triple H's arch-nemesis. It got me thinking of other wrestlers who have a particular rival that stays consistent through their entire career, or a huge portion of their career. I'll start with a few.
The Rock and Steve Austin
The Undertaker and Kane
Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart
Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit
Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage

I'm thinking like, nobody should have more than one arch enemy. For instance, I didn't say Austin and McMahon because the two were on the same page for a while, as opposed to Austin and The Rock who have never been okay with each other. Not that any of this matters, or that anybody is wrong of course.
A few more.
Misawa and Kawada
Tommy Dreamer and Raven
Edge and Matt Hardy
Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn
Rey Mysterio and Psychosis
John Cena and Randy Orton
Triple H and Mick Foley

I would categorize this as a "good guy" who had a heel be a real thorn in their side.
Public Enemy vs. The Gangstas. A lot of teams have come and gone through ECW, but the Gangstas were the one team with whom PE had the most trouble figuring out. They were both similar in the basis they were both street fighting gangsters, but PE did it out of fun and having a good time. The Gangstas took their living seriously and were appalled by those wannabes.
