I'd like your reasons too.

I voted for Flair. I prefer his style and the fact he actually wrestles. He's had so many classic matches with various opponents and was still having great matches well in to the 90's.
I used to like Hogan when I was younger, but I've realised that if you take away the hype, he really is uninteresting. To me, he represents a lot of the negative things in pro wrestling.

I went with Hogan, but it was not an easy pick.

Hogan quite easily. Well, Hollywood Hogan anyway I think Flair's horribly overrated, tbh.

Hogan.
The guy had such an influence on wrestling and helping to bring it to the mainstream in the 80's.
Flair is important too, but I feel that Hogan beats him out on being more of a bigger name to the mainstream.

Hogan changed wrestling like no other superstar and is the biggest name ever. Flair maybe 2nd but not over Hogan. Both men should get credit anyway.

Let's see:
Biggest mainstream boom in the 80's was built around Hulk Hogan.
Catalyst to the late-90's boom was built around Hulk Hogan turning into Hollywood Hogan and forming the nWo.
Yeah, this is not even a contest. Flair himself would probably vote for Hogan in this thread.

Hogan is the man. It is a shame WCW misused both of these two towards the end when WWE got the most out of them that they could.

Hogan had a huge impact on not just wrestling but on pop culture as well.
While Flair can be considered a better wrestler. Not many average joes would know who he is by name.

I voted Flair. And I don't give a damn about "Who was the bigger name?", "Who drew more money?" or even "Who drew more money in the Carolinas?" All I care about is "Who entertained me more?"
And that's Flair hands down. Consistently better interviews (Hogan could be good, but he could also wander into "Thank God Donald Trump's a Hulkamaniac, brother!" territory) and matches are no contest. As Flair said, he was still in the ring when Hogan was back at the hotel, had a shower, and room service was knocking on the door. There are some Hogan matches I've enjoyed, and do to this day. But if I can't count them on one hand, it's awfully close. With Flair, I could name matches all day long.

I do not know if he was better on the mic then Hogan but wrestling wise he was. When Flair came to WWE Hogan was still the main event and when Hogan went to WCW he was stil the main event and above Flair was very good reason.

Well, it all comes down to opinion on who was better at interviews. Like I said, Hogan could be good, but for my money Flair was consistently better.

Nobody can take that away from him. One of the best mic workers ever but Hogan was also at a very high level. When Hogan was the biggest face in the world Flair was the biggest heel in the world.

I originally read it as Flair ON Hogan, which excited me.
But I picked Hogan, as Flair was more of a cult following and Hulkamania was a religion unto itself.

I rememeber WM8 Vince had a chance to give us this classic which is what the world wanted but it never happened. WCW gets knocked for its booking but the first chance Eric got he gave this match to us. He knew the wrestling fans had wanted it for years.

I voted Hogan because he made the wrestling industry twice.
First in the 80's when he won his first WWF title and he and McMahon ran wild with Wrestlemania turning wrestling from fat guys on local cable to big guys on network tv.
Then
in 1996 when he turned heel and with Hall and Nash formed the NWO made something that made wrestling ratings go from 2.5 to 6.0 yes SCSA and the Rock capitlized on those numbers but neither one of them would of been able to bring wrestling out of the funk it was in.

Since approximately 1980 the two biggest names in the industry have been Hogan and Flair. Sure you have had some stars who have had times of mega success such as Austin, the Rock, Brett Hart, Piper and Sting to name a few. But there is no question that no two wrestlers have had the sustained success for around a 25 year period as Hogan and Flair have had. These two have always been basically main event wrestlers for 25 years (although Flair did start jobbing some several years ago to help put over talent) I honestly cannot say who is better though. All I can say is that Hogan was the best of the WWE in the modern era of WWE and Flair was the best of the NWA and later WCW type promotion.

Flair for me, because I enjoy his work much, much more and it was far superior. Simple as that.
