I never really got the concept of the European title... When the majority of WWF/WWE wrestlers came from North America! Its just a name really, I mean the US title right now is being held by Chris Benoit...theres no uproar about that is there? But I always liked the European title, thought it was a good lower midcard title and gave the guys with not much to do something to do.

Speaking of the Hardcore Title; what happened to Foley and Edge un-retiring it anyway?

Why exactly should an American company with a roster which is heavily American have a European title?

It worked back when the roster was a lot bigger, but I doubt it'd be any use now.
I like the idea of bringing back the 24/7 Hardcore title though.

I'd pefer the HC title to come back ,preferably on ECW to give the brand some sense of real-ECW. Or on all brands. Bu the Euro title was great fun. I don't see hee it'd be needed, unless it was an inter-brand midcard/lower midcard title. Guys who I could see holding it are: Charley Haas Shelton Benjamin Chavo Benoit Both Hardyz Both of MNM fregal Dave Taylor Buchill if he ever comes back Possibly Rey Mysterio Possibly Gregory Helms Carlito Super Crazy Chris Masters CM Punk Dupree Conway Sylvan Val Venis Finlay
But they can all fall under the mdicard title anyway, or are jobbers. So it might not be needed.

European title you say?
Claudio Castagnoli should be the only wrestler allowed to hold the European title...or throw European Uppercuts.
Riiiicola!

With the WWE having a large fanbase in Europe and their dedication to getting out there more... I wouldn't midn the Euro title back but on the condition it could only be defended in Europe. Make someone like Regal who's insanely over there because of being there the champ and during US Tours he'll just be doing non-title matches, but when he goes over there, he has to defend it. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing it be like a five year title reign for someone because they rarely have to defend it.
And someone call Lance Storm to rename the IC Title to the Canadian Title while we're at it. Same idea.

Don't they go to Europe like once or twice a year? It doesn't seem like much more than that, or at least not televised much more than that.
I hope the Hardcore title stays where it is.

The European title started out as an interesting, if not uneeded title. Once it was defended in America and was killed off the first time, only for Midian to find it in the trash and become the champion.....it was just a midcard title with no purpose and the IC and US titles already have that territory staked out nicely. Midian didn't find the belt in the Trash... Hacksaw found i think the TV title in the trash on a nitro. Midian found the belt in Shane's bag, and started calling himself the Champion... not really any better... but still.

What WWE should have done was hold onto the European title when the brand extension first began. They could have sent the Intercontinental title to Raw and used the European title on Smackdown, which would have elevated it a bit. There was no need to bring back the US title, although I always thought it was done to not only have another midcard title, but to make one show more like WCW. Unfortunately, everything from the World Title belt to the announcers being placed at the entranceway to Eric Bischoff were spread out among the shows.
