Hello and Welcome to the Superhero and Supervillain tournament that I do every year ...
I have once again decided to find out who is the greatest Superhero/Villain of them all in the eyes of the fans. A staggering 256 contenders will make an appearence but only one can win.
Here are the rules and FAQ
FAQ:
The contenders were chosen by the wrestlecrappers along with some obvious contenders from the main superhero and supervillain unvierses. We had a qualifier thread as there are so many possible contenders.
In the previous two tournaments on this topic the winners have been Spiderman, Doctor Doom, Batman & The Joker.
There will be no comedy, TV or Manga creations in this tournament (e.g Dr. Who, Captain Caveman, Hong Kong Phooey, Akira, transformers, Turtles, Dragonball etc ...)
I haven't put any groups in as each villain or hero should have the merit to stand on there own. The occasional double act may appear though.
Feel free to discuss the characters involved in the current bout.
Rules
First to 4 votes wins. (After 3 rounds it will progress to 5 votes for the next two rounds, at the quaters it will be 6, the semi's 7 and the final will get a couple of days.) If there is no winner within a long time I'll ask the random number generator ...
256 characters will enter ... they will be spread roughly between hero and villains ... with a few Vigilante/anti-hero's thrown in.
The main selection will be from DC & Marvel ... however a few from other independant comics have been included.
I will try to update this as swiftly as possible.
I will be voting as well.
The matches are determined at random.
IMPORTANT! - Vote on who you like the most, not on who would win in a fight.
Ok then with all that said and done let's get this show on the road ...

Doctor Octopus
- Otto Octavius had a turbulent upbringing. His father, a factory worker, was abusive and violent towards both Otto and his mother, leading Otto to be shy and reclusive in school. However, at his mother's insistence, he was determined not to become like his father and threw all his efforts into his education, regularly scoring top marks. It was hinted that he was a low-level telepathic mutant whose powers emerged at puberty; this mutation may have been responsible for giving his father an aneurysm as his father went to beat him. His father's death in an industrial accident pushed Otto further towards the study of, and obsession with, physical science. Before his transformation into the megalomaniacal archenemy of the web-slinger, Otto was a brilliant and respected nuclear physicist, inventor, and lecturer. He became the youngest person to serve on the National Board of Nuclear Science. He designed a set of highly advanced mechanical arms to assist him with his research into atomic physics. The tentacled arms were resistant to radiation and were capable of great strength and highly precise movement. They were attached to a harness that fit around his body. During an accidental radiation leak that ended in an explosion, the apparatus became fused to Octavius' body. It was later revealed that the radiation (or possibly his own latent mutation) had mutated his brain so that he could control the movement of the arms using his thoughts alone. The tentacles have since been surgically removed from his body, although Octavius retains the power to control them telepathically from a great distance. The accident also seemingly damaged his brain (although it was later suggested that what was interpreted as brain damage was in fact his mind rewiring itself to accommodate four extra limbs), and the scientist turned to a life of crime. Though Doctor Octopus himself tends to be portly, and in poor physical shape, he has recently been able to improve upon his physique. He was also near-sighted to the extent that he was legally blind without the aid of his extremely thick eyeglasses, but he no longer appears to suffer from that problem, presumably through the use of laser surgery. With his harness attached he is physically far more than a match for Spider-Man; in his first appearance he beat Spider-Man so badly that the wall-crawler considered giving up his heroic career until he was inspired to continue by the Human Torch at the time when the Fantastic Four was called in to fight Doctor Octopus. Over the years, Dr. Octopus has become one of most recognizable members of Spider-Man's rogues' gallery. He remains one of Spider-Man's most dangerous foes, having many legendary battles with him over the years. His crowning achievement was the near-fatal stabbing of Spider-Man's then-partner/lover, the Black Cat, who was placed in critical condition. This led to Spider-Man beating Dr. Octopus within an inch of his life. The trauma of the beating he received from Spider-Man left Octavius severely phobic of Spider-Man and spiders in general for years. This lasted until Spider-Man was forced to let his nemesis beat him in combat so as to allow him to break free of his fears and recruit him to save New York City from an exploding nuclear reactor.

Sleepwalker
- The Mindscape: the dimension which borders on the minds of all sentient creatures. The evil Mindscape entities often seek to enter the minds of sentient beings and drive them mad. Protection comes from the Sleepwalkers, other entities of the Mindscape sworn to prevent the evil beings from entering the minds of innocents. Sleepwalkers are guardians of the Mindscape-- they apprehended beings that invade the sleeping minds of humans. One of these guardians was tricked by his long time foe known as Cobweb into entering the mind of one individual, New York college student Rick Sheridan. The two fought within Sheridan's dreams, but when Cobweb left, the Sleepwalker found himself trapped. As the Sleepwalker tried to leave Sheridan's mind, he found himself appearing in Sheridan's dreams, or, alternatively, into Earth when Sheridan was asleep. At first, Sheridan believed that the Sleepwalker was just a character in his dreams, until watching the evening news and seeing a report about an attempted robbery. The robbery had been broken up by someone who, according to a police sketch drawn from the description given to them by eyewitnesses, looked exactly like the being in Sheridan's dreams. Sheridan decided to avoid sleep as long as possible, in order to avoid releasing the being again. When he finally dreamt, Sheridan fought this strangely-dressed, haunting figure. Rick reacted by tearing off Sleepwalker's Imaginator (a badge-like device worn by Sleepwalkers used to teleport around the Mindscape.) This resulted in an odd situation, further trapping the two together: when Rick slept, Sleepwalker could materialize in reality or he could stay in Rick's mind and converse with him via his dreams. It was through these conversations that Sleepwalker was able to dispel Rick's initial fears that he was a malicious entity that wished him harm and work out agreeable terms of cohabitation. Rick and Sleepwalker eventually worked out an understanding, allowing the alien to fight crime and various injustices. This was not easy, as Sleepwalker's appearance caused fear among regular people.

My vote goes to Doc Ock, although Sleepwalker is a cool unique character.
