Ugh! Now they are down to 12 teams. The glory days are long behind them... I don't think the future of indoor football is optimistic.

Ugh! Now they are down to 12 teams. The glory days are long behind them... I don't think the future of indoor football is optimistic. I talked with my friend about this tonight. One of the big things I think that's killing them now is no television exposure. That and owners who don't understand that they're not gonna make money off of this right away. It took awhile for the AFL to even get to the glory days. Back in '08, I think it was overspending that seemed to nearly kill the league there. There's a lot of indoor leagues that, with a good core of teams, are very successful. The Indoor Football League, the Professional Indoor Football League, and hopefully the Champions Indoor Football are the three major indoor leagues that I feel are gonna be around for a while.

So my first and so far only exposure to arena football has been the series 4th and Long. I'm curious those guys that follow arena football, what are your thoughts about it? Is it a realistic portrayal of the trials and tribulations of an expansion team in arena football?

Is it a realistic portrayal of the trials and tribulations of an expansion team in arena football? There's probably a little bit of it that's staged for television, but yeah. There are quite a few bumps in the road as an expansion team. There always is. But like any team, over time, it can get better. But if Brett Bouchey is like how he was portrayed on that show in real life, he needs to get canned. Because he has no clue how to run a franchise.

But I have followed Arena Football on and off (I am a fan of the Orlando Predators). If there was an Arena team nearby and had the money, I would go to more of the games, but since I live in Stafford, VA and don't have the money....I cannot go to the games. Plus the small TV exposure does hurt.

They play in the Professional Indoor Football League, which plays with AFL rules, but without the rebound nets. Here's the team's website.Funny thing is, I actually have their mini helmet. I like to collect mini helmets of the arena/indoor teams more.

And the 2015 IFL Season begins today!!
The Iowa Barnstormers, formerly of the AFL, travel to Cedar Rapids and face the Titans in the first ever "Iowa Bowl".
The 4-time defending IFL Champions, the Sioux Falls Storm, travel north to battle with the Bemidji Axemen.
And the newly formed Billings Wolves travel to Kennewick, WA to take on the Tri-Cities Fever!!
Tomorrow, the two time Intense Conference Champions Nebraska Danger travel to Green Bay to face the Green Bay Blizzard.
And the Wichita Falls Nighthawks travel to Colorado to face the Colorado Ice!!

The Indoor Football League... still in influx, but in better shape than the Arena Football League.

The AFL has a new commissioner though, and his claim to fame was turning around a failing casino. Hopefully he'll be better than David Baker.

I really want a team back in Dallas. Someone needs to buy the trademark from Jerry and bring back the Desperados.
