Storm Owner Todd Tryon InterviewLetter of credit for the league jumps from 10K to 150K? And they had to have 85% of the roster be rookies for the 2018 season? F*** the CIF. Shady bunch of f***ers.

With indoor football, 150K might as well be $50 million.
That's major league scummy crap.

Why is it that when I start to enjoy a league, they turn either scummy or moronic?
I had high hopes for NAL but Dayton was a travel team hired by Rent A Players, half the announced teams didn't play, Corpus Christi was a disaster, and Monterrey literally had a "build your own website".
CIF is just a bag of dicks.

By the way, is the Arena League going to expand?
No contractions, but you really need more bodies.

I haven't heard anything lately about the AFL expanding. If they did, they'd probably want to stay on the East Coast for now.

If it was up to me, Albany, Cincinnati, & maybe Atlanta would be the expansion markets.
Cincy has a rabid fanbase, Albany may suck as a sports town but need a tenant, and Atlanta would give Tampa Bay a regional opponent.

Details are coming tomorrow. Cincinnati is odd. They had a team (the Commandos) in the CIFL and UIFL for 3 years, won the Championship all 3 years, then folded. Atlanta I don't think will ever get another arena team. The Georgia Force folded after the 2012 season, stating that despite all the extensive marketing and sales campaigns, the market never responded to the team.

It'd be great, but I'm worried they already chose something else. I'm thinking that, too. One of the local newscasts last week, when this was first brought up, had mentioned that there may be some legal wrangling needed to get the Firebirds name, but I can't find anything else about it. In searching for this, I found out something I didn't know: the Albany Conquest AF2 team was supposed to be named the Albany WarBirds, but 9/11 put a stop to that. www.si.com/extra-mustard/2016/09/12/albany-warbirds-logo-name-brandiose-911

But, in 2009, the Conquest were renamed the Firebirds and had the modern likenesses, yet at that time, fan apathy was pretty high and the team was awful. I'm guessing the previous owners of the Conquest still have that important copyright.
