or SAD, whatever it's called now. Anyone else have it.. and does it seem worse this year than normal ? I know it's early yet, but I'm on the verge of a meltdown. Going to hate to see what I'm like in a few months time.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I came down with a serious case this past week. THe weather where I live was terrible, and I felt like I hadnt seen the sun in ages! The fact that I was dealign with a lot of things in my life at the time didnt help either.

Yep, pretty much every year, I can't stand the winter, freezing cold mornings, always working when it's actually light, having to cheat death just to get to work some mornings and it rains all the freaking time. I do like Christmas though just for the family and friends get togethers as much as anything else.
I love summer.

as a psychologist, I can tell you its very common. often times it gets so bad people get diagnoseed with disorder called Cyclothmic Disorder....a disorder where people get depressed in cycles, with a common cycle being that of the 4 seasons.
people are happy in the spring and summer, and more depressed in the fall in winter. some research says it has to do with the amount of sunlight available, as the vitamin d in the sunnlight makes people feel better/feel worse depending on how much there is.

I had a severe dip a few weeks ago, but that's because I was changing my Anti-depressants and anti-psychotics for a couple of reasons, so I can't be anything but feeling better, but yes, I've noticed my mood is a bit more sombre than usual as the weather changes.

I think my wife and I have a touch of this. Combine the daylight savings time drop-back hour with a general lack of sleep due to our almost 8-week old daughter, and it's been really rough lately.
Both our daughter and dog are still on the pre-fall-back time, with both waking up earlier than normal and wanting attention.
The time shift bothers my wife more than me. She's been on maternity leave/sick time since the end of September and the season and time change has left her pretty fried when I get home from work. We've been advised not to take the baby out until after 8 weeks so cabin fever has set in to boot.

I kind of get the being depressed in spring thing since that is portrayed as the season of love. All kinds of animals are getting it on, but as for me... not feeling it around that time of year.

The Fall into Winter seasons always make me very exhausted, while during Spring and Summer season I'm more engerticed.

I'm an October person, myself. I love Summer's heat and sun (Chicago is Canada's Miami, after all. But the weather and atmosphere of Autumn is my favorite time of year to be out and about, to breathe the air, to simply look around. And this year, for the first time, I can enjoy it fully, since my depression and anxiety issues are being medicated effectively now.

It's been raining here constantly for at least three months now, and now I'm getting annoyed at the fact that the weather is hot again. Can't take a decent nap in this heat.

Yeah, I have it. In my case it's not the weather though. It's the fact that another year is almost gone, and I still seem to be stuck in a personal and professional rut. I just have to remind myself that I have a great family and good friends. When I do that, I realize things could allways be worse.

I don't know, I've been dealing with some form of depression ever since Mom passed away back in July of '08. There's days that I feel like I'm on top of the world, then there's days where I just don't feel like going on.
I think the one day I hit rock bottom almost was my birthday last year. I wanted to do something fun, but no one was around to do anything. I had drove all the way to a town a half an hour away from home to bowl with a friend, but he didn't answer his phone. I wanted to see if anyone else wanted to do anything, but no one else was around. On the way home, I was so pissed and depressed, I was crying.
