downloaded Mega Man 9 about a year ago and I still haven't finished ONE level of that stupid hard game. I'm hooked on Battlefield 1943. After I kill enough people in that to earn every honor, I'll give MM9 another crack. s*** is hard. {Spoiler}Start with Galaxy Man. The little crane things that drop down can throw you off and really just take some trial and error to get through, but the rest of the level and the boss is almost too easy. Not to mention the Black Hole Bomb you get off it is probably the second or third best weapon in the game. Set that thing over stuff like the laser turrents at the start of Concrete Man's stage and you can jump without any worry of getting hit and falling into the pits on the backlash.
Then I would personally go with Splash Women. The Laser Trident is without question the most handy weapon in the game. It's like firing a charged shot without charging it, plus you can shoot it just as fast as your normal mega buster. It's not Metal Man's Saw Blades, but IMO it's the best weapon this game has by a long shot.
Then I would try Hornet Man, as his hornet blaster...thing...not only homes in on enemies (slowly though, so its not real dependable) but it can snag items that you can't reach. It's nice to have when you need some health or an extra life but it's tucked away somewhere way too dangerous. There are also alot of spots in Wily's Fortress where there are items you can only get using it.
From there, I guess it would be personal preference...I did Tornado Man last myself but I hear alot of people knock that out quick. His Tornados take out every enemy on screen, but it uses ammo damn quick.
Jewel Man has a shield which to put it simply, it's Leaf Man's Leaf Shield. It's handy, but the level itself truly is damn hard.

Guys, I dunno what you're getting all excited over. They came out with this game on the SNES like 15 years ago: ![](http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1578/megamanxcoverart.png) Well we can always call it X1, making it 11.

OH HELL YEAH! I loved Mega Man 9. I actually beat it (once), though it took me awhile. FWIW, there's also official box art: ![](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/56/Megaman10.jpg) Capcom USA still going for the obviously inaccurate look, as seen on the box arts of MM1, MM2, and MM9.

TBH, I think Capcom has this nailed down on what people want from this franchise. 8-bit Mega Man, corny and awesome boxart, and classic gameplay, so props to them.

I'd also love to see the X Series return to the awesomeness that was the SNES Mega Man X games. I'd buy them for sure, be it a VC or DS release

Sheepman needs to be Electric-type Do androids dream of electric sheep? I need to start reading that actually. I started playing Mega Man with 1. Mega 3 was the first game I ever pre-ordered. And for me, 9 was harder than any of the main series except 1 (freaking Gutsman's stage). I think that is because I got used to the conventions from the X series (dash, wall jump, speed). I want more remakes like Mega Man Powered Up.

Yeah, having the X series be revied as SNES-style games would be awesome. But only if they charge roughly what they do for SNES titles on the VC. I can't see many people plunking down $60 on a 2-D Megaman game in this day and age, sadly.

Oh, I wouldn't pay full console price for it, but I'd definitely buy it on VC or even pay for it as a DS game

They were starting to do some interesting things with X8 and if they do they need to get Inufane or else it's pointless. OH HELL YEAH! I loved Mega Man 9. I don't think MM9 was very hard, but Dr. Wily was a pain in the ass.
I hope this comes to XBL soon after...

Ugh, and the box art is still terrible. That is not a good thing. Good luck finding a way to spend $55-$60 on a 2-d Megaman game though. There is a very good reason Capcom has gone the download route. Hell, I hate the "2-D Sucks" rationale, but it seems the only way a 2-D game can justify its cost is a low-cost, smaller staff download. This isn't just Capcom that has switched to this idea-Konami and others are doing it too. If all games were $60 in this economy we'd have a game market crash as bad as the 1984 one.

Unless it's Mario, apparently. People seem to gladly fork over $50 for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

If they are selling at all I have no idea, but Wii is home to some good 2-d this year.

I'll be honest with you: I wish more modern video games had boxart like these. Alot of boxart these days are pretty bland.
