Man. I came on here today wondering if was going to see a thread on another celebrity death. So sad I was right.
So long Luanne Platter.

Wow. Truly did not see this coming. I can legitimately say that I was entertained by her in virtually everything I saw her in - even Little Black Book. Unlike a few actresses who I won't name, she was someone who had a genuine charisma and presence and shined even when she wasn't given the best material to work with. And Luanne Platter was loads of awesome. R.I.P. I said this long ago, but every time my comic nerd buddies and I would discuss who we wanted as Harley Quinn if they ever DID put her in a Batman movie....the one name most of us could agree on was Brittany Murphy. She had the voice, the personality, and I think she would have had the range to pull off the sweetly psychotic Quinn. This is just tragic news to hear today.

She was in one of my favourite movie sex scenes with Eminem in 8 Mile - awesome, given the fact that both of them were wearing clothes in the scene. It was so intense.

it's not on cnn, yahoo, msn, etc. It's on AOL, but I'm pretty sure they're linked directly to TMZ. AP (EDIT: Reuters either) hasn't picked it up yet, from what I can tell.

Jeez, man.
It's the last thing you wanted to hear about.
As others have said, 2009 isn't letting up even near the end.
Rest in Peace.

it's not on cnn, yahoo, msn, etc. Just because it isn't on those sites doesn't mean it isn't legit. TMZ broke the news of MJ's death, remember?

Other sites are picking it up, such as NY Daily News and Huffington Post, but I don't see anything more "official" like AP yet.

TMZ is pretty accurate with their news. i just think people fine them unreliable because they break news like "Tiger Woods' mom was seen buying an apple." also: People has picked it up www.people.com/people/article/0,,20332090,00.html

Quite sad. My condolences to her family. Wasn't she the daughter of Goldie Hawn?

I believe that's Kate Hudson. Oh duhh. Oh right, Brittany is the one that Ashton left in favor of Demi Moore.

AP has a story that crews were called to her husband's home. E Online has it as well. Man, that really stinks, she was a good actress. it's not on cnn, yahoo, msn, etc. Just because it isn't on those sites doesn't mean it isn't legit. TMZ broke the news of MJ's death, remember? They also reported that the MMA fighter had died when he didn't. That's why other outlets try to get it confirmed elsewhere.
