No love for "I've Got No Strings", "Heigh Ho", "I Wanna Be Like You", or "Casey Junior"? This list doesn't impress me.

Good Lord, this would be a tough list for me to make.
BUT DAMNITALL, I'M GONNA TRY, ANYWAY:
These would be my personal favorites; even if they're lesser known or not that well regarded in the grand scheme of things, they're mostly the songs I grew up listening to and still remember fondly.
10. "Hakuna Matata" - The Lion King 9. "Hellfire" - The Hunchback of Notre Dame 8. "When I Seen an Elephant Fly" - Dumbo 7. "Robin Hood and Little John" - Robin Hood (just so different from what you'd expect in a Disney flick) 6. "Heigh Ho!" - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 5. "City of Lights" - The Brave Little Toaster 4. "That's What Makes the World Go 'Round" - The Sword in the Stone 3. "Friend Like Me" - Aladdin 2. "Why Should I Worry?" - Oliver and Company (BILLY @#$%IN' JOEL) 1. "I Wanna Be Like You" - The Jungle Book
EDIT: Special mention to "Nowhere in Particular", from The Wind in the Willows.

"Out There" at Number One...I understand why he would put that down, but there's so many Disney songs that are more worthy of the number one spot. If I had to make that list, I'd include:
10. "Part Of Your World" from The Little Mermaid 9. "You Ain't Ever Had A Friend Like Me" from Aladdin 8. "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" from The Lion King 7. "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty 6. "I Wanna Be Like You" from The Jungle Book 5. "Beauty And The Beast" from Beauty And The Beast 4. "A Whole New World" from Aladdin 3. "Whistle While You Work" from Snow White & The Seven Dwarves 2. "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2 1. "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio
Sure, I went for the really schmaltzy stuff, but to say that Disney would still be around with these songs is really hard to justify. And I do have a certain bias towards "When She Loved Me". Seriously, I've never heard a more beautiful song in a movie in my life. The only reason I gave it number 2 was because When You Wish Upon A Star is such a benchmark in American music today. It basically sums up what Disney wanted kids to feel through his cartoons and such. Sure, I may be getting very academic about this, but music's my thing and I think that these songs are essential in terms of music in film (something that I can also say is "my thing").

Reading all the responses has just made me remember how hard this would be, and how many good songs they've had. My list would look something like...
10: Pink Elephants on Parade - Dumbo 9: A Whole New World - Aladdin 8: Strangers like Me - Tarzan 7: Be a Man - Mulan (Oh come on, you can't say this isn't one of their catchiest songs) 6: Go the Distance - Hercules 5: Circle of Life - The Lion King 4: When She Loved Me - Toy Story 2 (their saddest song) 3: Hellfire - The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Their most chilling song) 2: Part of Your World - The Little Mermaid 1: The Magicians Apprentice - Fantasia
But then I remember or see a few dozen other songs that I think could be on there on any given day, and I remember how damn good Disney is at music.

I'm not gonna make a top list or anything like that.
I will say though that even Disney's lesser remembered movies have some fun songs in them.
Like one of my childhood favorites, The Three Cabelleros. For the title song and the song for the Aracuan bird.

As a 26-year old totally straight male, I am not embarrassed to say that my favorite Disney song is "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid. Just so cool and it's actually gotten me a few chicks.
