Santa is such an A-hole in the Rankin Bass Rudolph toon.

Santa comes off more close-minded to me in the Rudolph special than a serious dick. I think he decided to cancel his sleigh run mainly because any storm that had come before wasn't as severe, and he didn't immediantly think of using Rudolph.

Being close minded is no excuse for pretty much being a total dick to someone who has somewhat of a deformity.

Not to mention the fact that he is only nice to Rudolph b/c he sees that Rudolph has something he can exploit for his own benefit. Ah, cynicism. And Holiday "children's shows."

If there was a free market in the space of Christmas gift giving then he would have had vibrant competition. Rather than view Rudolph as a deformity, he would have realized his potential much faster, either that or Sinterklaas, or Father Christmas, or Tomte would have.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought this when watching Rudolph.
