I was wondering this yesterday. What if Dave had continued doing the show? How long would it have lasted?
I would have loved to see Daves take on a lot of things. Kanye's outbursts, the 2008 election, etc. Also the possibility of more Charlie Murphys True Hollywood stories.

I agree. The world needs Dave right now.
I'd love if they just brought it back next week. acted like nothing happened, and that it never went off the air.

There's a good chance we'd be saying, "Man, if Dave was smart, he would've ended it after season 2."

At the very least we wouldn't have gotten bottom of the barrel crap shows trying to carry the Comedy Central banner like Mind of Mencia (yay, a German Houndras pretending to be Mexican) and The Jeff Dunham Show (So bad, just so bad...)

I think he'd have wound it down by now, anyway.
Maybe he'd have kept it going for 2 or 3 more seasons, but no more than that.

I approve of half of this post. Jeff Dunham may be a one trick pony, but his one trick is funny to me, so I don't mind him getting a TV show. As for Chappelle's Show continuing, if what we got out of the abortion of season 3 was any indication, Dave wouldn't have been able to sustain the funny for very much longer. They aired 4 episodes of season 3 (I believe) and only 2 were funny, the last 2 were the worst skits in Chappelle's Show history. So maybe he got out just in time, even if history will see him as foolish for walking away from $50 million dollars. You know, Dave's words were quite prophetic. He did that bit about the racial draft and Tiger lost all of his endorsements. Maybe he will become the spokesman for Fubu? ;D

Yeah, I agree, the show probably wouldn't have made it much farther. And if they brought it back, I still don't think it'd be funny despite what's happened this year.

I have to be honest, when I first heard about him losing endorsements while listening to the radio on the way to work, I actually said the "Tough Break" line from the show.

The funny thing is, it was Wanda Sykes who first raised this possibilty in regards to Tiger. She had a joke about Tiger denying his blackness (the whole "Tiger calls himself Caublasian" thing) as much as possible, but as soon as he screws up, he'll just be knows as a "black golfer".

I don't think Chappelles Show would have lasted too much longer.
Especially after seeing the Lost Episodes a lot of those were just bad.

The Lost Episodes were lost because they were bad. They were never meant to see the light of day. The same with most of Season 3. Most of those sketches were meant to have been left on the shelf, and were aired so Comedy Central could get advertising revenue for airing their hottest show a little longer. You have to realize that by then, Dave was already gone, and it was the network running the show. Only the first two episodes had Dave's fingerprint on them, and they were pretty good. By then, though, he was so annoyed with the corporate BS that he was ready to bug out. I figure, two more seasons without the BS, and then Dave had all the weed money he would ever need.

I'd love to see his take on Barack, and see just how different it would be from Black Bush.

As much as I loved the show, I think it would have been hard to top season 2. The lost episodes were pretty "meh" except for the MTV Cribs parody.

There's a good chance we'd be saying, "Man, if Dave was smart, he would've ended it after season 2." I absolutely agree with this. After season two, they set the bar way too high for their own good. People would probably be treating the show the way we treat the Simpsons these days.
