How many of you out there snoop for presents before christmas.
I did it one year but it made my christmas morning less exciting so I never did it again

yeah, basically the same here. Did it once when I was little, and I wish I hadn't, but it really made the holiday season less special. Then once I hit the teenage years, there was less subtlety with gift giving

I was always the opposite. I hated finding out what I was getting for Christmas, and when my parents tried to shop for me behind my back while I was with them at the store, I would look away from the cart as much as I could.

My parents used to take me and my sisters to Toys R' Us and we'd just pick our presents but weren't allowed to open them till Christmas. So no need to snoop. Of course, that was there present, everyone else, I never knew. And no that I'm older, I have no idea what I get.

Oh man, this thread takes me back. There's been several incidents, but my favorite memory that this stirred up was un- and re-wrapping a curiously-sized box to find out if it was the Indiana Jones trilogy. I used to pull shit like that all the time when I was a kid.
It was Indy, btw. ;D

I never really snooped, but I did open up my presents early a few times.

Nope. The surprise is a major part of the fun.

I did that when I was a kid. But the folks were wise and I opened a box of socks and underwear. That wasn't what was waiting for me under the tree Christmas morning, though. Nice bait and switch.

Not really. I always had a basic idea of what I was getting. One year excepted, and when I tried to snoop, it didn't work - my Xmas gift was an air hockey table that was being held at the neighbor's house until Xmas Day.
This year, I know what my major gifts are anyway, so no point.

Of course.
My parents were not exactly the masters of hiding crap.
They just put them in their bedroom wardrobe.

I did once...accidentally.
I was tearing through our basement trying to find............something which I can't remember.........and I found that year's Christmas stash hidden behind a bunch of boxes from when we moved into that house.

No, though this year I do know several presents I'm getting because I was with my mom when she was buying them.
We went shopping 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and I pointed out a movie I wanted, saying "if you want a idea what to get me, there's one" figuring she could pick it up at a later date, but she got it right then. Then I saw a shirt I liked, and she got it. Then we were at the store Dick's, and I was going to get a new pair of shoes, and she had a coupon to use on them. So she paid for them, and said I could either pay her back or she could use them as a gift since it would help her out for a gift from her. So I said go ahead.
One of my sisters use to sneak down Christmas night, open her presents, re-wrap them, then go back to bed then.

All the time as a kid, my sister and I would look for them. Now it doesn't really matter to me, I don't ask for anything so whatever I get is good to me.

I did a couple times, mainly because my bro always wanted to.
We found my dad's hiding place at our house we grew up in... it was in the garage attic. He'd go shopping a few times and pick stuff up and park the car in there and stash it and then wrap it last minute.
By the time we moved, I was 14 and my youngest sister was 11 (and by Christmas we were 15 and 12) so we pretty much just went and picked out what we wanted. My mom and dad would still pick us all out some small stuff and usually take us to pick stuff out for each other.
I remember one year I got a 24" bicycle. My mom kept saying we'd put it on layaway and my dad would pick it up in the minivan. I crammed that bike in the backseat and trunk and we got it home. Although, my dad ended up having to get it back out as it shifted a little and got stuck.

I only snooped once, at least successfully. When I was little, I would try to snoop quite a bit but never found anything. Until one year, I found a few old school Game Boys for me and my stepbrother. I was excited but it kinda ruined the surprise for me so I never did it again.

I never really did outside maybe looked and picked up a couple wrapped present that where under the tree and guessing what it was. I did that when I was younger. I used to can't wait to open them in the morning and the same when I got to grandmas. The last couple years I didn't feel that way. It was like I excited to see what I get but I didn't want to rush into it.

As a kid I looked for a few yaers, but once I realized that it was causing me to enjoy Christmas less, I stopped. Now, as an adult I never look even if I see where my wife hides the bags/boxes. It ruins the fun.
I did accidentally come across a Transformers Premiere Edition Volume 2 hardcover on accident a couple of weeks ago though.
