A girl I like invited me to her Christmas party which was held last night. I agreed to go. To cut a long story short, I like this girl a lot. So much so that I drove about 45 minutes to get to said party. At the party itself, things got a bit weird in the sense that she tried to hook me up with one of her co-workers. Yeah, obviously I didn't do that. But she kept pushing me trying to get with her saying she was smitten by me, and that she is giggling, whatever. Nothing happened between me and the co-worker. This morning I sent her a text saying that the party was fine, her co-workers were cool (which is all true), but I would have wanted more one on one time with her. She replied saying something like I know, I'm sorry and then she put three sad faces. Maybe she realized what she did, but I wouldn't bet on that.
I'm still confused by the whole situation. I'm not sure whether to be angry, sad or disappointed in the situation because that has never happened to me with a girl. Ever. A friend of mine who is a girl told me what she tried to do may be one of three things: she's not interested in you and by passing you along to one of her co-workers, that was her indirectly telling me she's not interested; she was being a bitch and probably didn't know about it; last, she likes you and this was her way of trying to find out. I'm going with Option B, even if she isn't a romantic interest, as a friend...that's pretty f***ed up. Like, I don't even care about what happens from this point on...I just need some clarity and understanding.

I'm older than most on these boards, and I can tell you that you will never figure out that conundrum. There are times when you think they're interested, but they just want to be friends and vice versa. It doesn't get any better, as when you get older it still happens. You just have to muddle through ..
But there will come a time when you meet that cool chick that makes all this stuff worthwhile.

Obviously option A, she's not interested and wanted to pass you on to a friend.
btw, your also a tool for driving 45 min to get to her party. Would have been better to just stand her up and not show.

LOL. I know right? At the end of the night I asked myself why did I even come. But it's no sweat off my back. It was a learning experience, and it's something I had to go through I guess.

In the words of that Teacher fellow from Starship Troopers; Never pass up a good thing. Look, you can't get attached to girls who aren't attached to you. You are a man, you have the ability to restrain your emotions to your benefit. If another girl likes you, you can't just reject that, you have to roll with it. I know, she's not the one you wanted, but if nothing else, she deserves a chance. You need to think about how Dwight would approch the situation, as opposed to Michael. Michael would pine over a women for years, whereas Dwight is a love them and leave them kind of guy. I'm not saying do that, but what I am saying is odds are, you are going to have feelings for a girl who will not return them. You have to learn to move on.
Unless you look like Jim, then you date Karen while waiting for Pam to make up her mind. I can see no downside to that plan.

*looks into camera* BANJO: Women are confusing creatures, though they are lovely, especially in their natural environment, such as the shopping mall.
BANJO: Here we see one immersed in her daily activities of texing on her phone while shopping for shoes.
*hides behind plants and whispers to camera* BANJO: Notice her complete obliviousness to everything else around her at the moment. So pretty yet so strange. Now I'm going to attempt to lure the fascinating creature over here with this copy of the DVD "The Notebook."
*throws DVD and hits pretty girl in the back*
GIRL: Hey, what the hell was that?!
*runs off* BANJO: Whoop, whoop, whoop!!!!!

I'll tell you what my father told me about women.
"Women are like refridgerators. They're 6 feet tall, 300lbs. They make ice"

Yeah, thanks for all the advice guys. She's not the only chick that I'm interested in, but it was definitely a humbling experience. It was probably something that I had to experience to move on I guess.
I've never had this happen to me before, so I wasn't really sure how to react to this situation.

don't be so down. Maybe she really didn't know you were interested and she has a friend who does genuinely like you. ever hear of the expression "Bros before hoes"? well girls have one too. "Chicks before dicks" If her friend is interested in you, she more than likely would rather set her up with you than ruin her friendship by going after you herself. It's not really fair to assume she was acting a certain way without talking to her about it first. But on the topic of women. My best friend growing up was a girl, I have 3 sisters, I used to live with one of my female cousins, and I have a daughter. Trust me when I say this. You wont figure woman out. They are like a bunch of Vince Russos. Every time you think you got them figured out. SWERVE!!! On a side note "Women. Can't live with em..... pass the beer nuts." NORM!

"Women. Can't live with em..... pass the beer nuts." "Women, can't live with 'em...and they can't pee standing up." But seriously, stop thinking. Females don't operate on logic.
