It's interesting from a booking perspective. Kofi just f***ing owned last monday, and all of a sudden is on the hotshot to the main event just like that. Assuming Orton and Kofi have a match at SS (over a car mehhh) (and it may very well be a survivor series elimination match), who do you have go over? With the royal rumble fast approaching, one may wonder if you should leave Kofi's full blown push till there and have him win it. However, with the WWE's suckitude at pushing young guys, they may want to leave Kofi alone because he seems to be doing well, and give it to another young guy like Morrison to get HIM fully over. Or hell maybe they'll let that youngster HHH get a shot at WM!
So, how do you book this feud and Kofi's future up to and after the rumble?

No - have him go closer and closer every time, and when it really matters, and all the fans are into him, then have him go over.
For instance, what would Sting's career had been like if he went over Flair in that 45 minute match at Clash of the Champions? Because it was a draw, the fans stayed with Sting all the way until he finally beat Flair for the title. They might have got sick of him awfully quick if he just beat Flair right out of the gate.

Kofi won't go over. He'll get a good showing but I think right now the best thing will be Kofi getting in a good offense and getting some respect.

Here's what I'd do:
Team Kofi beats Team Orton at Survivor series. Kofi gets the elimination over Orton.
The December PPV, Orton barely beats Kofi in a VERY comptetitive match.
Then at the Rumble: Kofi gets the win over Orton. The rumble match itself? Kofi comes in early, and lasts say, 40 min. A good showing.
At No Way Out, Have him be in the chamber match, and be the 2nd to last guy elimanated
At Mania he wins MITB.
Granted its 6 months of booking right there, but that's how you do it without Cena'ing him down people's throats

I say have Kofi beats Orton in a standard match on Raw, then Orton wins in a hard fought something or other (let's say Ladder match) at TLC. Kofi gets the rub of beating Orton when more people are watching, but Orton wins when it counts to still establish that he's above him for the time being.

I think the RAW Survivor Series match goes down to Kofi vs. Legacy. Kofi beats Cody, Kofi beats Ted. Then Orton hits a blindside RKO and beats Kofi. It's a bit like HBK at Survivor Series 03.

Personally I love the "NEW" Kofi, but I don't really think he's going over at SS unless it's an elimination match scenario. I could see him losing a hard fought 1-on-1 after Legacy gets involved, leading to either Kofi getting back-up (doubtful) or having a rematch where Legacy is banned from ringside and Kofi wins clean with the SOS (Which i'd like to see as his new secondary finisher)

Most times, I would say no. But in the context of this particular storyline, it could work. Orton lost his title, and he's despondent. Legacy (or more specifically Dibiase) is slipping away. If Kofi beats him, it could make him go even more batcrap crazy.
Personally, I don't think he should yet, but there is an interesting route to go down if he does.

Kofi can cut an awesome promo and im excited for his future now but give him a rivalry with Orton and get him over with the crowd even more than he is having hard fought matches with Orton pulling off an upset on RAW when it comes to the big time Orton beats him on PPV and just carry on with the rivalry from there im gonna enjoy watching Kofi

Not right now... have the first match, Kofi almost wins, but Orton pulls it out. Then maybe the next time they meet up, give him a win akin to Shelton going over Trips in 04 (the first time he beat him).

I was going to say "At least it would be SOMETHING new", but on reading the comments, I'd have to agree- it's very much akin to how Jeff Hardy was pushed to the top. Get him up to the point where people are dying to see him win the title and, more importantly, are willing to pay to see him do it.
This said, I'd actually pull the trigger at Wrestlemania, because hell, what else do they have planned?

I would say no, but it's important to have Kofi get as close as possible.
Orton's in a situation where he can really raise Kofi's standing by making him look as dangerous and credible as possible, without necessarily having to give up the pin...plus if Kofi beats Orton clean so easy and early it kinds kills off the long-term possibilities.
What they shouldn't do is what they did with Cena-Miz, where a good build-up was thrown away with two clean and not very competitive losses. The Miz has been able to recover most of his ground from that with hard work and promos, but you can't do that with everyone.

He should get close, but no cigar. Strong showing, though.

I personally see him getting a near miss at Survivor Series, an upset win next month in a Raw main event, then a clean win at Armageddon in the rubber match.

Orton isn't made of Teflon like Jericho is. Right now, I don't think he can afford to put Kofi over in this feud if they intend to keep him as top-tier heel. Maybe job to him in a TV match or a tag match, but Orton wins the blow-off.
That being said, there's no reason why he can't make Kofi look like a million bucks in the process.

If their first encounter ends up at Survivor Series in the traditional elimination tag matches, it's not doubt Orton would win it. After all, he's pretty much won almost all of those matches (save for 2006...guh). But that's not a bad thing. Depending on the circumstances, it just means that Kofi would come close, but to no cigar, and they can continue the feud there on out with whichever direction WWE so pleases to do.
