Everything looked to be done so... mechanically(?) I don't really know how else to describe it.. Basically the wrestling equivalent to reading off of a script. Plus he looked bored.

His new look reminds me of comedian Brian Unger.

The need to feed him a few more jobbers, bring in Danielson, and have Danielson destroy him. I've never been a Hoyt fan, and his evil banker look isn't changing that.

It is a shame. His look was weird to me, but this is the first time I had seen him with short hair. He did the capable geek well in TNA, something that WWE has not truly embraced since Mankind (V1 was geekier, but the WWE did not embrace him as much). Instead, he has the default heel hoss gimmick. Knox is the last one of them to truly expand on that gimmick any, but not really in the ring. Yawn.

But everyone on Wrestlecrap said Bryan Danielson was suppose to take Sheamus' spot on ECW? How sad I am now.

With a name like Vance Archer, they HAVE to give him a Green Arrow-gimmick. Wasn't someone in WWE, either Vince or one of the bookers, rumored to want his gimmick to be that of Robin Hood, kinda like the whole "Pirate" Paul Burchill thing? And meanwhile, Heath Evans sighs and renews the lease on his apartment in Florida for another month.

After watching Hoyt tonight, I have come to the conclusion...without the hair and the goatee, he is an ugly, ugly man.

I honestly didn't recongize him either, but what I saw was pretty much nothing special. I know he's an agile big man, but if they're really going with the long set-up into an inverted DDT for a finish it just kills it for me. So he picks the guy up and sets him back down on his feet WITH INTENSITY? Big deal.
Yeah it's too early to tel, and maybe they'll let him show more of what he's capable of, but last night was bad even for a squash.

I thought his theme music ruled.
I dunno, maybe we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss him as a failure based one match. Kofi's first match was botch-heavy, MVP beat a jobber in his first match and I bet the majority crapped all over it.
Let's see what happens in the next few weeks before we start declaring the death of his career.
