Just watching the GAB 2007 and Cole & JBL give us the usual intro and then pass it on to JR & Lawler....when the camera changes you can see JBL grab a Bud Light and open it...So JBL drinks beer while commentating which obviously made him better Take a look if you have the DVD or youtube it.... Thoughts....

Just don't give Cole any alcohol during commentary. We saw the results during the ten year Smackdown celebration.
Although I want to see what Striker would do if he threw up some VINTAGE SHRIMP!!!... all over him.

You know what makes him more awesome.....that he got Hornswoggle to throw him a beer once from under the ring, I'm sure somebody has the gif somewhere?

I really miss JBL as a promo guy and an announcer, I really wish they'd bring him back as Raw's GM.

Whole-heartedly agree, he was pretty much in a top tier for his charisma and heel heat. Even his sightly curves didn't put me off, the man has had some great matches and put over a few main-eventers in the process.

I appreciated JBL in all his forms. Most as a commentator, though.
And I would drink too, next to Cole. I'd need beergoggles to think he was anything other than annoying.

Drunk or no, the man was a tremendous talker and the best color guy in the company since Ventura (though on a very good day, Lawler in his old, full-on heel days was almost as good).
Huge loss to not have him at the table, especially with JR out.

I wish he'd come back as a commentator as well. He was entertaining as hell and did a great job putting over the match. Even when he was running a wrestler down he was helping their character.
From the reports I read he didn't put in any kind of cameo at the Smackdown! 10th Anniversary, which made me think he really is done with WWE.

It was thanks to JBL that Cena, Mysterio, and Batista are the guys today.
