What are bands you hated and went back to after some time and ended up liking? Or bands you liked but now love.
I hated Pink Floyd for years. But within the last months I've grown to absolutely love them.
I almost exclusively listen to music on my comp. So I end up only keeping a few tracks from some artists and dump the rest. Even though I usually give music the chance to grow on me.
I have loved Iced Earth for years, but only had like 10 of their songs that I kept. After the singer switching thread I decided to break out my complete Iced Earth discography and put it back on my comp. I was pretty shocked to see that they had so many good tracks, like all of their songs and CDs were great. Even Iced Earth the album was great. How did I miss so many the first time?
Also I've always enjoyed King Diamond's vocals and musical style and have a handful of his songs I really enjoy and listen to often. Then I went back to check out some of the albums I had. The guy's band is amazing. It's just awesome, the progression of the music, the concept story telling. Those subtle vocal and guitar twists he throws in for texture, and the atmosphere. Also the guys give you some damn tasty solos and hooks. I now consider him one of the best musicians around. He has his own unique style in which he excels like Faith No More or Primus do for their sound.

I didn't really like Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet (outside of the widely heard singles), the first time around. Second time I listened to it I fell in love with it and its now one of my favorite rap albums.
I also didn't care too much for the first Rancid CD I heard, but after listening to it again, I really liked it.

I disliked Metallica's St. Anger the first time I heard it. Then I gave it another shot and thought it was regular. Then I heard it again and hated it. Hated it since

I wasn't a big Iron Maiden fan. I mean, I liked some of their stuff but that was about it. Then I saw them live at Ozzfest 2005, and they blew my freakin' mind away. Like to the point where we started singing along with the fans whenever we could. Now, one of my favorite bands. Same went with Linkin Park (well, up until they released Minutes to Midnight ), I loved them, then saw them live at the Summer Sanitarium tour and had a new found respect for them...up until said point above. Then, my personal favorite being Killswitch Engage. Long story short, my heart was broken for the first time, just when the band released The End of Heartache with their new vocalist, I wasn't sure about it...WRONG! That album helped me through so much.

Rush.
When I was young, I just didn't have an appreciation for music. Then I saw a clip of them in concert. Now I do.

Led Zeppelin. I thought they were the most overrated rock band of all time. However, in the last year, I've been changing my opinion. Led Zeppelin II and The Song Remains The Same are both incredible, and I plan to give III another spin in the near future, once I've finished with my first listening of the Beatles Remastered set.

I've reformed my opinion that ICP is worthless. That's pretty unfair. Great Malinko is a good album, and "Come Play With Me" is a pretty kickass song. Still not my favorite band by any means, just not as worthless as they get labeled.

While I never had any real complaints with him, I didn't become a serious Elton John fan until high school, after listening to Madman Across the Water.

David Bowie. I couldn't stand him when I was younger but no I have an appreciation for what he does.

I also hated Pink Floyd for a long time. But over the years I've learned to appreciate their musicianship. Still not a fan and probably never will be but I can recognize talent when I hear it. Same goes for Rush.

I wasn't a Rush fan when I first listened to them.Like most,I couldn't get past Geddy Lee's voice. Then I really listened to "Tom Sawyer" and I just loved it.Now I'm one a huge fan and I have all their albums, each of which I appreciate for different things.
Now I actually quite enjoy Geddy's vocals.

Smashing Pumpkins. I didn't like them when I was really young when my dad kept on playing them, then last year I started to really love them.
