I think I'm most likely going to get this game tomorrow. Speaking of KO's, is the KO system still the same old stupid "Connect with move, ding-ding, KO" bulls*** that's been in the series since like the very first Smackdown game? Yup, though it does make it convenient for my Edward Elric CAW - he has a tendency of getting instantly declared the winner after hitting the Clothesline from Hell 2 (the ground one), which is a nice touch given what he's hitting with. That big ole automail arm of his? Well damn, I really wish they would follow the KO system from the AKI games or DoR series. They've changed pretty much everything since the first SD game; grapples, submissions, etc., yet they STILL have that lame ass excuse for a KO system (is it even considered a system?). It never really bothered me in the past, I usually just turn of KO's and move on, but sometimes I would like to have a little fun and win some matches without having to pin or make people submit (ontop of gimmick matches).

Oh, and after some perusal I found the Spinning Clothesline was in CAF soi I decided to give it to Nattie as opposed to the spinning powerbomb which she hasn't used since FCW. Thing is I have to use a setup. What do you suggest? The spinning clothesline is already in her moveset, it's Up + X (360)/Square (PS3). I know but I wanted it as a finisher.

That makes your opponent stagger back around towards you and they remain groggy for a second. Perfect opportunity to connect with a front grapple finisher.

What I said was I found out that the spinning clothesline was in CAF so I created a move with it I called the Hart Breaker and assigned it to Nattie Neidhart. I was asking what would be ths best setup, since you have to select a part before the clothesline like a kick to the midsection.

Elbow 2's Masato Tanaka's Dangan elbow, not the roaring elbow. But it's probaly the best substitute andits the one I've always used. Is the spinning backfist still in? I believe its Chop 2 or 3 or something like that. Can it KO? That's right. Eh, it looked good enough for Hero, so it worked. As for the backfist, another Yes and No. Regular move Chop something looks decent enough, but cannot KO. Strong Backfist looks like a Backfist To The Future and can KtfO.

I used to love the sound and animation of a KO in clothesline in No Mercy, they'd just crumple perfectly.

"'Patch'? What do we need a patch for?! This game is perfect exactly the way it is! Those people who pay for our games and put food on our tables...they have no idea what they're talking about! They don't know what they want--WE know what they want! They want choppiness! They want glitches! They want s***ty preteen boy-pop music! Now go take their money and laugh in their faces as you do it!"

Every time I do a pedigree on the Smackdown! set, JR always goes "I LOVE that Double A Spinebuster! Right when he needs it!"

Rumor has it (somebody with OXM Magizine) that the first batch of DLC will be Steve Austin, Jimmy Snuka, Ricky Steamboat, & Yoshi Tatsu.
If that turns out to be true, FAIL! I've already got Austin. We had Snuka in past games. Steamboat would be cool, but not over active wrestlers not in the game, like Zack Ryder! Yoshi should be good. We should be getting Yoshi, Ryder, Sheamus, Paul Burchill, Hurricane, and guys like that. We shouldn't be getting 3 legends, 2 of whom have been done to death in past games.
What they should do is offer each as seperate downloads. That way, we can choose who we want to download. I'd take Yoshi & Steamboat and tell Austin & Snuka to f*** off.

They want s***ty preteen boy-pop music! Lynyrd Skynyrd = s***ty preteen boy-pop music? ...oh, I guess you meant "With Legs Like That" by Zebrahead (aka Maria's theme song that is so horrible that it's considered cruel and unusual punishment). Still, the presence of Skynyrd in SVR almost makes up for that.

Well.........
Discuss. Personally...I know they've delivered a much better game than in year's past, but I am not looking forward to the idea that the gameplay might not make that much progress in the next few years now that THQ is safe.

A lot of people didn't get the game from a location that had Austin's code packed in it. So, aside from the percentage that got it at GameStop/Random UK Equivalent, this will be new to them. Snuka was in one game. That isn't "done to death". Plus, he actually had a match at WrestleMania. Yeah, I used that argument. Where was Sheamus/Burchill/Hurricane/etc at Mania? Steamboat, a lot of people were hoping for when he came back for a while and showed that he still has it. I wouldn't mind having him in. DAS with Jericho vs Legends anyone? Yoshi Tatsu, eh, why not. He's on quite a roll. And with any luck, the addition of him in the game will bring along his hair for CAW, so I can make an accurate Jimmy Jacobs.

......So, does this mean there won't be any more new wrestlers for 2009? SvR '09 is dead and buried to THQ and Yuke's. They'll likely never receive another patch or DLC again.

Generally, when a new iteration of a yearly sports game is released the previous year's title becomes obsolete and all the possible DLC and updates will be released for the latest version.
