Celebrity involvment in wrestling can work if done right. The problem with the guest host seneiro is that by bringing celebrities on the show each week. it becomes overkill. Sometimes, instead of brining an outside celebrity on the show, they will have a former WWE superstar host the show. Do you think it would be better if they went with only former wrestlers, and only included mainstreams celebrites on rare occasions ? That way, you still have a big pool to choose from as far as guest hosts. The WWE has some many guys on legends contracts. Then you have road agents like Steamboat and Malenko.

weekly celebrities are no different than having Teddy Long as an authority figure on smackdown. Hell i could take Dennis Miller as a authority figure before I couldnt Teddy Long.
The only thing Teddy Long should be doing is managing Doom or The Skyscrapers OR getting his head shaved in a hair vs hair boxing match with Paul Ellering

Ok my issue with the guest hosts is this:
It seems like more time is spent on deciding who's going to host, when they are going to host, what segments they'll be in, how to promote said host, and so on rather than the main angles.
I realize that the host for the most part have not monopolized the entire shows, but still it seems like a lot of time, energy and creative effort are tied up in making the hosts "fit in."

In addition to what the others say, I think the hosts are almost too diverse. It makes for a very schizophrenic show, since they try to tailor at least some of the segments to their host's activities.
Also, I think it's taken the focus away from the wrestling, which is just weird to me. The WWE, no matter how much it tries, is always going to be a wrestling company. It's never going to be SNL or whatever it is is trying to be. I don't watch the WWE for the (usually lame) skits; I watch it for the wrestling.

Why don't they just dump the entire guest host rubbish and then maybe I'll tune in again?
Absolutely no interest in whoever they trot out for turgid one week storylines. The guests I have seen have looked as comfortable as barbed wire knickers.

I would rather have a constant GM than guest hosts. teddy Long may be stale, but a stale GM is better than guest hosts.

The biggest problem with it is when they keep on bringing in celebrities to get themselves over rather than the product. Kyle Busch and Joey Logano were only used for the NASCAR week because they happened to be the ones driving the WWE cars. If they wanted someone who was going to be a GOOD host and maybe bring something to the table, bring in Tony Stewart and maybe Dale Jr (who, even though he sucks ass since moving to the evil empire, still inexplicably moves merch), or hell, Jimmie Johnson has won the damn cup 4 years straight and the guy is a decent talker. There were so much better choices for that NASCAR week but they went for the cheap plug, and the show suffered for it.
That's just one example, but there have been so many weeks where the host wasn't an established talker, and they wind up doing the crappie flop on live TV. It's a great idea in theory, but they're bringing in all the wrong people.

The biggest problem for me with all these guest hosts is that it all ends up making zero sense in their angles/storylines. Why is an organization turning total match-making power over each week to a different celebrity who more often than not have absolutely no experience in wrestling. Add to this the idiotic comedy sketches the celebrities end up participating in with the wrestlers and all logic is out the window.
I know full well that I'm never going to see a return to the wrestling that I love (i.e. stories told in the ring), but god all the skits and nonsense are getting on my nerves.

I thought the first few guests were pretty good. Bob Barker was gold. I actually liked the Jeremy Piven stuff. Shaq was great. And Jesse the Body was my favorite overall. But lately I agree that it is stale/old and jumping the shark. If they are going to continue this I think they need to keep to some legends for a while until they can grab a celeb that is a true fan of wrestling.
