00-04 simply because I cared back then.
Sure, past 2001 there was some major suckage due to shitty booking, but I still watched every show. All my faves still wrestled.
As the ones I connected to left the WWE, retired or sadly passed away, my interest waned. Once 2005 hit, the new generation (Cena, Orton, Batista) started full force but I didn't care enough about them to keep my interest in the product.
Not the E's fault. The guys I mentioned were good choices for the future of the company. However, I was already on my way out. Once Benoit died, there went the last of my faves. Sure I still had Taker, HBK, Flair, Rey, etc. but they all could've retired right there and I would've been satisfied with their careers. At that point, they were already at the "icing on top of a great career" phase.
Don't get me wrong. I still watch. I just don't care the same way I used to (go to house shows, but merch, follow the guys careers, etc.) Not much of a connection to the wrestlers. I just enjoy a good match or feud to pass the time.
Honestly, the matches are way better today. So, if you choose now, I completely understand.

2000-2004. 2000 and 2001 were the best years and even 2002 was entertaining for the most part, although that is where the cracks started to appear. 2003 and 2004 weren't great any means but they were still better than the last two or three years for me, which I really haven't liked much at all.

2000-2004 absolutely sucked. 2005-2009 has flashes of brilliance in amongst its dreck. Really? Really? Wow. I just don't see it, I must admit. So matches/angles involving Benoit, Angle, Guerrero, Undertaker, Rock, Steve Austin, Lesnar, Edge, RVD, and Jericho absolutely sucked, but the Zombie, Big Dick Johnson, Lashley, Hornswoggle, new DX, Spirit Squad, Raw Guest Hosts and Mike Adamle were flashes of brilliance in your view? The only truly brilliant thing I can immediately think of from 2005-2009 was the ECW One Night Stand show and MVP's first big push.

2000 to 2004 by a landslide. IMO each year got progressingly worse than the previous one(with the exception of 2008), 2009 is when I finally called it quits, though I was losing some interest in the product in 2007.

The only truly brilliant thing I can immediately think of from 2005-2009 was the ECW One Night Stand show and MVP's first big push. I voted for 04-09. You can look at it another way, too. The transition from the Attitude era to today's product wasn't pretty. They kept the trashiness, but lost the entertainment value. 00-04 had terrible TV from WCW, the death of WCW altogether, the Invasion angle, endless McMahon involvement, terrible heel Austin, Katie Vick, the start of "what?", the name change, Undertaker as "booger red," and Austin peeing orange on Arn Anderson. I've been watching wrestling for a long time, and it seemed like during that period, they were trying to drive away viewers. Those things I mentioned were among the things that actually caused me to give up on wrestling for a while. WWE - and Raw in particular - may be going through a stale period right now, but when it's good, it's great. There may be Big Dick Johnson, Hornswoggle, and Mike Adamle, but there's also CM Punk, MVP, John Morrison, the Miz, Kofi Kingston, Yoshi Tatsu, Randy Orton, etc. Not to mention the fact that some of the matches HBK has delivered in the last few years, such as with John Cena in the UK and with Undertaker at WM 25, have been all-time classics.

First one, the awesomeness of 2000, coupled with 2001 and 2002, make up for the suckitude of 03-04.
