After watching this week's SmackDown, I have come around to Michelle McCool's abilities to be a great heel. The insults towards Mickie alone weren't cutting it, but now she's backing it up on commentary by saying she's merely trying to help Mickie out as a former champion and get her lean and motivated. In effect, she's defending her actions, which is something I feel a great heel should be doing. As much as I've felt angry towards this angle, it's merely everyone involved doing a great job, and Michelle has taken great steps in this feud towards being an amazing heel.
The great thing is that despite these claims to back up her actions, you know full well she means none of it, and that's what makes it even better.

Agreed, Michelle was flipping awesome on this episode. So natural too. I don't think I've seen a better heel Diva in a long time as Michelle is right now.

I didn't see it yet, but I'm excited for the commentary as well.
I definitely agree that some of the insults were lame at first, like, the whole video thing they did, it was ok, but it could have been so much better and so much more brutal, if you will.
Those are the best heels as well, almost in the same vein as Chris Jericho and CM Punk, where they are babyfaces at heart.

Commentary always seems to allow heels to shine. It gives room for exploration and on the fly one liners, which are so necessary to rounding out a character.

for me she is still very wooden. She's anything but wooden now to me. Or if she is wooden, it's like she's taken it and ran with it. She seems so composed in how she speaks now, it's brilliant. I don't think I've cared this much about a Diva storyline in probably my entire wrestling fandom. If Beth slowly gets involved, turns face and feuds with Michelle who initially tries to say she's the 'model Diva' to keep her away and then starts with the 'looks like a man' jibes then I really do think this will be one of the great Diva angles of our time. These angles are the best. They are letting Michelle be so personal in what she's saying that it's getting people emotionally involved.

I, too, have been vastly impressed with Michelle so far, she's really stepped up her game.

She was good last night and I think she's been good and shown charisma through the whole Piggie James angle. And for awhile now she has been a top Diva, which isn't hard, but in my opinion she'd be a good women's wrestler anywere except maybe Japan she'd get broken in half lol.
Also I notice she looked really good, she's still skinny, but she is clearly fitted and toned.
Now her problem and for most Diva's is no matter what she doesn't get much heat and even with the Piggie James stuff she's having trouble getting alot, though on SD! there was heat, but I couldn't tell if it was for her or Beth, who gets or has got heat in the past inlike Michelle.
And the final thing is I can wait until we get Beth vs. Michelle, that'll be awesome.

I wouldn't rate McCool a great anything. Jericho is a great heel. Punk is a great heel. Regal is a great heel. McCool is simply average. Before, she was terrible. Now, she's decent at best.

Well I can't stand her and I want Mickie to rip her apart so that must mean she's a great heel. Surely better than Jericho, Orton and Punk since I like them.

I really like what they're doing with having Mickie just take the verbal abuse at first, because it adds so much heat to the thing and like the poster above said, I wanted to see Mickie rip her apart as well. Just the way she communicates her feelings, and how Mickie sells it. It's friggin brilliant.

While I don't think she's a great heel, she's definitely a much better heel than face, both in & out of the ring. I also think she works off of Layla very well, which has helped her a bit, plus she wrestles better currently than as a face when she was MMA expert Michelle.

Exactly a good heel needs to come across as thinking they are right no matter how silly or cruel their actions are. BTW I agree McCool is becoming an awsome heel, IMHO.
