WOW! This is like something that has never been done before in the history of the WWE! What do you think about the WWE has taken a drastic step by putting the belt on Sheamus ? You think about all the guys they have built up to put the world title around, and now Sheamus. Really, who is he ? He is a second fiddle feud with Goldust on ECW. Then, he goes to Raw and beats up Jamie Noble, and now he is beating John Cena for the WWE title. He is a good athlete, but this is the first time the WWE has just put the prestigious title on a virtual nobody.

And to think, he's already held the belt longer than Andre The Giant.

Yeah it's kinda risky, at the least it will take some time to reestablish the belt. It depends on if Sheamus stays in the main event or at least remains credible after losing the title.

And to think, he's already held the belt longer than Andre The Giant. And Yokozuna. And Kane. If he holds it one more day, Bob Backlund's second reign will be eclipsed.

I don't think it's fair to compare Sheamus to David Arquette at all. Sheamus has had an actual and successful wrestling career before he even came to the WWE. David was just an actor who won a title because he took part in a movie being produced by WCW.
I can see your point on being mad about somebody who hasn't been in WWE very long becoming champion so early, but he is way, WAY above the David Arquette debacle.

Sheamus could never be as bad as david arquette
The bad part about David Arquette was that it was a fluke win for a "celebrity"...WCW didn't even care enough to get somebody relevant to win it

Time will tell. It all depends where the Sheamus character goes.
This reminds me of when Bradshaw won the WWE title a mere two 2 months into the JBL character and the "what the f***?!?" reaction it got. Goodbye title's prestige, right? JBL became so awesome. The gamble paid off and seeing JBL's name in the record books as Champ doesn't feel weird anymore.
I know WWE has ADHD nowadays with who will be their "future" but they better not give up on Sheamus. To use a poker analogy, they went all-in on this one.

Yokozuna and JBL turned out just fine as champions. Let's just wait and see what happens with Sheamus, no?

I'd rather have Sheamus David Arquetteing the title than David Arquette David Arquetteing the title again.

EDIT: Somebody should do a Sheamus countdown sig to see how many more days Sheamus would have to be champion to eclipse Bruno.

I don't see how you could even compare Arquette and Sheamus. One is an actual wrestler...The other is a crappy actor.

There is a big difference between Bradshaw and Sheamus. Bradshaw had been in the company since 1996 before winning the title in 2004. Plus, in real life, JBL had gained popularity in real life with his stock market sucess and Fox News. Yokozuna was built up as a monster from Survivor Series, before he won the belt at WrestleMania. Sheamus just comes right out the Flordia plant and wins the belt.

This is really blowing it out of proportion now. Shaemus is a wrestler. A decent one at that, with a great look and solid mic work. Hotshotting the title on him is not the problem. The problem was them waiting so long to start putting fresh faces in the main event. At least they are now taking steps to correct that, even if it's not under ideal circumstances.
Just a few weeks ago everyone on here was worried about another boring Lawler match where he gets a lot of offense in and the heel gets a narrow victory, killing all his heat, like what's happened so many times in the past. Well they swerved us all. Caught us off guard for once and we still don't like it.

Sheamus did nothing, then all of a sudden he jumps in the main event picture.

*waits for face plam pictures*
you can't compare pale rider and Arquette since Sheamus is a wrestler and Arquette is an actor
the only person you can really compare him to is JBL in that they came from no where to become world champions well before they were ready
I'm not saying I didn't like JBL, I did, but he wasn't over enough to be champ and he turned heel only 3 months before his title reign
as for Sheamus....I haven't formed an opinion on him yet but I think it's way too soon for him to have the belt, I'm not saying he won't be good, but it's too soon to have him run with the ball on the so called A-show
