Give Syfy want they want and turn ECW into a full blown Sci fi show. Leave the memories alone.

The ECW stuff, don't care what you call it, as long as it gives young guys a shot show their stuff and not be buried to hell.
The SD stuff, I get the "identity" stuff, but you know what would really help it? Moving it off the sinking ship called MyNetwork TV that a chunk of the country doesn't even get. How about Fox? NBC is already the "wrestling company" no matter how much they don't want to be, so how about it on Friday nights? If you just move it to a watchable network where it can get good ratings, that's a big problem solved right there.
What Smackdown doesn't need to do is become a sports entertainment circus with midgets and celebrities.

I'm not sure Smackdown really needs fixed much.
ECW, I haven't watched in over three months due to Sons of Anarchy.

If you want ECW to have better ratings, move it to a better time slot. 10:00 on Tuesdays is a terrible slot. At least move it back to 9:00.

I just like how somewhere in their plan to increase ratings a magazine style show came up. Who ever suggested that, whether they are from WWE or from SyFy should no longer be receiving gainful employment. agreed I'm not gone lie I'm excited to see what changes they're gonna make altogether

Source: PWinsider It's been reported this week that major changes are coming to WWE in the early months of 2010, with the ECW brand likely being shut down. According to a sources, WWE also has big changes in store for the SmackDown brand. The feeling is that RAW has enhanced its identity with the Guest Host concept and SmackDown needs something of its own to stand out. While nothing official has been decided on yet, it's believed that any big changes will take place after year ends. Also as noted earlier here on the website, WWE is working on a deal that could change the current landscape of the company. WWE and SyFy have had preliminary meetings regarding the rebranding of the ECW series, which would include dropping name and brand "ECW". SyFy has noticed the dropping ratings since the debut of the show, and with the current TV deal ending in December, WWE is looking to improve ratings and freshen up the product. There was talk of a "magazine style" show, which was shot down, and the most recent pitch is an hour long show focusing exclusively on brand new talents. SyFy was very behind the brand when it debuted with a rating of over 2.0, but with the rating now averaging around a 1.0, the appeal has been lost. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, it seems they are trying to fix "problems" on the two shows that don't have many IMO. While the crappiest of them all is apparently fine and dandy? I'd be more worried about pulling RAW out of the abyss that has been the last 9-10 months, then trying to mess with shows that are doing OK. But the Guest Host gives RAW identity apparently. SmackDown does stand out. It's the show with good wrestling and interesting characters. Something RAW does NOT have. But Raw has something the other two shows don't have...and that's viewers. Regardless of what any of us think of the quality of the program it is still BY FAR the most successful of the three shows. Granted it is the one that has all the built in advantages, but still...why would they would want to do something to Raw while its the other two shows that are in the toilet in terms of viewers?

If they want ECW & SD! to get more viewers, put them on better nights at a better time. SmackDown! doesn't need a do-over. It needs to get away from the Friday night death slot & that horrid channel that has NOTHING going for it. ECW needs a better slot on a better channel as well. RAW is on USA on Monday nights at 9. They better get more viewers than SD! & ECW.

How about the thing to make Smackdown stand apart be...oh I don't know, a regular wrestling show? Imagine it: a show with more than 2 matches, less than 5 backstage skits, and actual entertainment!

I know people don't want to hear this, but personally, I still prefer RAW's roster (HHH aside) to SD's. Yes, SD has Morrison, Kane, and R-Truth, but other than that, I don't really feel like I'm missing anything by not watching (I can do without Ziggler, I can do without Rey, I can do without Punk, I can do without Big Dave, I can even do without Taker, and Jericho's on RAW every week anyway). Maybe that might change when they get Edge back, I don't know. But I never feel like there's anything about SD I really have to see, especially since it's taped so far in advance.
I have the feeling, though, if RAW was taped so far in advance (or aired on Fridays), I probably wouldn't watch much of it either, though,

Remember when someone said that DX could win at TLC and then lose the belts to hornswoggle in little people's court?
I actually think that's how vince wants to/is going to fix smackdown. That way he could appear on all three shows.

ECW's ratings tanking is 100% WWE's fault. RVD as ECW Champion was getting good ratings. RVD chasing Big Show for the title was getting good ratings. Then comes Bobby Lashley and the de-push of all the ECW Originals, and the ratings suddenly begin going downhill and never go back up. Now SyFy is pissed.
Whoops.
As for SmackDown, I really don't care what changes they make at this point. They already ruined the show when they de-pushed CM Punk and brought Batista over.

There is no way that any of the ECW originals had any fans of their own! It is just a coincidence that the first time Balls Mahoney showed up that the crowd did the "Balls" chant when he was punching someone!

Sure, NBC may air a WWE specal once in a while but they have no interest in becomeing the wrestling network. If NBC or Fox were interested would the WWE have chosen MyNetwork TV? If WWE's only options at this point is WGN or cable. At this point, I agree with Dr. Sivana. Drop Superstars, move Smackdown to it's spot and expand to two hours. I feel four days of WWE is to much.

Here is the article from PWInsider:
WWE LOOKING TO MAKE MAJOR CHANGES TO THEIR LANDSCAPE IN 2010 by Mike Johnson @ 3:44 PM on 12/2/2009
As I broke Monday in the PWInsider.com Elite section, World Wrestling Entertainment is working on major changes to the company's landscape for 2010. There have been preliminary meetings with SyFy over changing and rebranding the ECW series, including dropping the entire ECW brand and letters.
The ECW brand was launched in 2006, a year after the successful ECW One Night Stand PPV. Over time, the idea of bringing back ECW as a separate entity was diluted and the show eventually evolved into a secondary series utilizing veterans who wouldn't be pushed on Raw or Smackdown and younger talents getting their feet wet.
According to sources in the company, SyFy has noticed the fading ratings for the series since its debut and with the current TV deal expiring shortly, WWE is making moves to "freshen" the show up and work with the network to improve the ratings. There was talk of a magazine style show that went nowhere and the most recent pitch I've heard is taking the entire hour and focusing it all on brand new talents exclusively.
One person in the company noted that SyFy was very gung ho behind the ECW series when it debuted as a spin-off entity, since it debuted doing a 2.8 rating, but with the rating currently hovering around a 1.0, it's lost its appeal.
There have also been preliminary discussions about changing the Smackdown brand, since the feeling is that the Raw Guest Hosts have added depth and uniqueness to Raw. What those potential changes might be, I haven't yet heard.
The current plan is to not make any major decisions until after the first of the year.

I like Smackdown because it feels like its the last remnant of WWF wrestling. If the WWE de-emphasizes wrestling on Smackdown in favor of the crap they do on RAW, I think it'll be time for me to take another hiatus from watching and supporting the WWE. I don't enjoy the guest host concept. In fact, I read somewhere that on one episode of RAW, there was a total of 18 minutes of actual wrestling in a 2 hour show. 18 Minutes! I've always tuned in for action and entertaining storylines, but maybe I'm outgrowing the WWE style of programming.
