It hasn't been snowing for hours, down here. This snow, covered the snow we had a few days ago.
It's also been reported that we're going to get some more throughout the night.
It's surprising to see snow around here, since I live near the damn sea.

Wait, England doesn't normally get a decent amount of snow? In any case have fun with it, we've been swimming in the stuff for the past two weeks here in Ohio.

snow? tis now ice up here in the frozen wasteland of the past watford gap area, no public transport, the horse wouldnt move and the cart broke it's wheel. which lead to me walking the 3 miles home.
seriously it's between 3 to 6 inches deep in blackburn with more on its way according to some reports, and due to freeze over night according to others. all public transport was ko'd for a few hours with my bus passing me 2 minutes from where i usually get off the bus.

I mean this is the nicest way possible, but posts like these really make me chuckle(just because an 'average' winter storm is at least 3-4 inches. I can't count the occasions where I've gone to sleep with green grass and woken up with a foot of snow in my back yard). But I guess that's what I get for living within an hour of the US/Canada border, on the top of a mountain.

Aye, we're up to 4-5 inches up here in Newcastle. And it's still snowing. Everyone's complaining about it, too, but I did the practical thing and built an igloo.

Complain bitterly about it, as we are completely incompetant when it comes to dealing with more than an inch of snow. *Thorws snowball!* ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Well at least thats something I guess. Oh yeah, one more thing I've been meaning to ask. Do you Brits really have tea time? The idea of a set time that an entire country stops for tea seems so ludicrously awesome.

Just outside of Norwich here and there's a slight amount. Compared to right now, there was more here a couple weeks ago. We'd better not be the only part of the country not getting any snow ...

Hopefully you don't have weather like we just had a week ago. Started out as snow, switched to rain, back to snow. If they would have plowed the road off then, everything would be good. But we got a little rain again and the snow melted and the ice froze to the road. They came by a couple days later to plow, but the road will be ice covered now until spring.
On the bright side, they did just put down some chemicals to melt the ice yesterday, a whole week too late.
But you Englanders have fun in all that snow you're getting. A little bit can be fun, but a lot sucks. I remember one storm around here we got 3 feet when all was said and done.

I can see myself now treating the whole country like a big Oliver Twist themed amusement park. And also being highly disappointed when none of you sound anything like Dick Van Dike in Mary Poppins.

I was walking home from work and saw that someone had erected an 8 foot tall snowpenis. I got a pic, would that be bending the rules too far?

Oh, the beauty of having a camera with you. Reminds me of a very silly picture I took when Borders was shutting down. Well at least thats something I guess. Oh yeah, one more thing I've been meaning to ask. Do you Brits really have tea time? The idea of a set time that an entire country stops for tea seems so ludicrously awesome. It's not a strict everything stops for Tea, but in the past and in certain settings yes there is a tea time. Tea and biscuits for all. It can also mean an early dinner. Which is quite convenient for this weather. A nice cuppa, with a cake, and a wonderful winter scene. And also being highly disappointed when none of you sound anything like Dick Van Dike in Mary Poppins. You don't need to worry about that, some places in England do sound like that.
