Now, I'm not sure how much is on the line for WWECW's first Pay Per View, but the perception that I have is that if D2D doesn't get a knockout buyrate, then ECW may be facing an uphill climb to sucess, if not the ax outright. With WWE taking the ECW shows off their own card and folding all house shows into the SD shows, I feel like maybe this may make or break the brand.
But my question is: Should we watch it?
As a diehard original ECW fan, I have been suffering through the "reenvisioned" ECW. Original wrestlers getting buried, fairly lame gimmicks, wrestlers getting bounced to this show from other shows...DISQUALIFICATIONS...it's almost like there's little rhyme or reason to things. And just when things seem to be turning the corner (the first Holly/RVD match, the emergence of CM Punk), it seems like things go right back to their piecemeal way of booking. So, I have been tettering on the verge of whether I would want to see the new ECW fold or not. I have been debating whether to get the D2D PPV since it was announced. The problem is, if people do get it, then it's almost as if we're saying to them, "Yes, we want to see more of the same subpar booking that infected the other shows". But if we don't get it, and if it goes down in flames, then perhaps we're guilty of sending a lot of talented (and untalented) guys to the unemployment line, and snuffing out ECW before it found a voice of it's own (although right now, it seems unlikely that will happen).
Is anyone else having this kind of conflicted feelings?

no. The PPV is like $40. forget that. If it was $15 I would buy it. They really should make it really cheap so people would tune in and then maybe it'll get a bigger following on Sci-Fi.

I support the Most Extreme Elimination chamber as long as their is a Rotaing Surfboard of Death in it, and possibly a couple logs over a pit.

I want to support it, but it's in such a bad spot (right after Survivor Series?) plus I'm wondering if I do support this, will the WWE consider they're retooling of ECW a good thing? I support the Most Extreme Elimination chamber as long as their is a Rotaing Surfboard of Death in it, and possibly a couple logs over a pit. Right you are, Ken. ;D

They ain't getting MY money. They wanted to market the new ECW to kiddies and morons, so let THEM buy the ppv.

If you want to watch it, watch. Don't let anyone persuade you to go either way. I'd watch it if I could a) afford it and b) we could order ppvs in my dorm.

It's in a real bad spot, in between 2 other PPVs and nothing outside the EEC is getting any buzz. I'm thinking that you shouldn't support it, cause it seems WWE doesn't either.

I'll order it, just to see how Punk does in the EEC. Punk in the main event of a PPV=gets my money

Considering I called WWE's fan hotline and asked why there was no undercard, and got the answer of "We're waiting until after Survivor Series so that we don't confuse people"...not at all.

no undercard + Blackberg with a 95% chance of winning the title makes me think that this'll be a December to Forget.

Wait...there's a WWE Fan HOTLINE?! Oh, that's rich... If it is the one out of the WWE mag. It is free (minus long distance charges) but, you have to call between 2am and 3 am EST.

A question was asked, I answered it as short and sweet as I could. If I wanted to flame on the new ECW, this board would probably crash from the volumes I could write about how disgusted I am with the WWE's refusal to give the fans what they want. As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing to come out of the new ECW is a paycheck for the handful of ECW originals still on the roster.
