I just got my DVD today and am watching it. Seen some of the matches, but from the ones I've seen I want to buy more.
Quack/Jigsaw/Helios/Dorado vs. Incoherience/Incoherience (makes more sense if you watch it) - Great 8 man tag and really enjoyable.
Ibushi/Generico/Jackson/Jigsaw is...in a word, atonishing. Just one of the best matches of the year and with some of the most insane spots I've ever seen.
Colony/Osirian Portal - What a title match...the ending was just so damn good.
Any other highlights from the DVD?

Yeah, that four way Rey De Voladores match is one of the most incredible matches I've ever seen. Just a clusterf*** of amazing moves.

I'm almost afraid to buy this because I would probably get into yet another promotion to take up my money lol.
Roh, PWG and now Dragon Gate..if I add another I may need to take out a loan.

Don't buy it. ;D I know I'll probably love every minute of it...then I'll start buying the shows from the beginning like I always do, realize so many are out of print, get REALLY irritated and have four promotions to buy dvd's from. Do CHikara have yearly big shows? Maybe I can get into them through their mega shows if my OCD doesn't insist on being a completist with them too.

The big shows are the February shows, which have been King Of Trios since 2007, and Tag World Grand Prix for two years before that. Then, there's the Young Lions Cup shows in the summer, the Cibernetico shows in the fall, and the season ending shows in November. Those are generally the biggest shows of the season.

I saw they had yearly compilations too; is that a yearly thing and are they good?

They've only been doing them the past couple of years, but they seem to have become a regular thing, and yeah, they're pretty good stuff if you want the Reader's Digest version of the year in question. I'm looking at the lineup for the 2008 one now, and it looks like a damn good list. And they thankfully didn't include "that lucha match" from the mid-west shows.

Sweet. I'll probably go that route then. Can someone link me to the sampler?
I can't find it and I figure I'd take the leap of faith.

My advice is to pick up one of the Year in Review shows, see how it hits you, and then working from there.

I'll probably do the same thing and at some point get the 2008/2009 Year in Reviews and then go from there. Might grab King of Trios or something after that.

OK, I know this is a BUMP, but WOW. The DVD blew my mind. The only match I didn't like was Claudio/Kingston. Will definitely be buying some year in review DVDs in the near future.

I appreciated it.
I thought it offered a lot more than their past commercial best of DVD. Whether I'm going to start religiously following the company though depends on a number of factors revolving around my money.
But from everything I saw, it has my attention.
