Now over the last few months, I've seen the term IWC thrown around and it's baffled me.
So I'm asking in the best way I can...what is the IWC? Do they believe in certain things? Do they act in a certain way? I don't understand how people use it in the ways they do, that's all.
And yes, I've been against the term and said as much before (and still am) but I kind of have a responcibility to NOT make really long rant topics. I just want to know what people think about when they say 'IWC'.

The International Whaling Commission.
It was set up under the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling which was signed in Washington DC on 2nd December 1946. The purpose of the Convention is to provide for the proper conservation of whale stocks and thus make possible the orderly development of the whaling industry.

I'll be the one to ruin the fun and answer it: Internet Wrestling Community, which in theory means all of us wrestling fans on the internet.

I'm more talking about the people who like to throw it randomly in their arguments about guys liking guys or thinking a storyline sucks or something like that.

In reality, it is nothing more than a meeting place for persons to discuss (positively, negatively, nonsensically, whatever) wrestling. While it may have trends or things that are popular within that segment, it should be noted that by no means does it guarantee the feeling is a universal absolute.
Interestingly, there is, to me, a subculture within the subculture that will rail against anything seen as "popular" amongst either a majority or even a large number of persons that inhabit or frequent the space that is the IWC. To those individuals, they are seprate from, rather than a part of, the "group". This segment will rail against the entity they see as the "IWC" that is, in reality, simply another group of poeple sharing an opinion within the same "building" so to speak.
What this means is, there are many "groups" within the "IWC". THere are also many individuals who are not part of any "group" and simply move about as they please. However, simply by utilizing the interwebs, as the kids say, to discuss, ponder, support, cheer, boo, or gargle about wrestling at all, a person is automatically an inhabitent oof the "building" that is the IWC.

A bunch of annoying nerds who think the wrestling world revolves entirely around them and what they think. This The type of smark that has never steeped foot inside a ring now will they ever do. Never made a name in any shape or form for themselves in the wrestling world. However somehow they constantly think they are correct and 100 per cent correct in anything they say about wrestling and any body who agrees with them is a clueless wrestling 'mark' who needs to 'properly educate themselves'

I mean, I've always kind of thought of everyone here as the IWC. And I don't think anyone here fits the mold you just cast.

IWC just means people on the internet who like to talk about wrestling.
In the hands of many trolls, it means "people who don't agree with me, and are therefore dumb."

Literally, it's people who talk about pro wrestling with each other over the 'net.
In practice, it's used to describe the sort of fan who, to put it succinctly, prefers CM Punk over Kevin Nash.

This thread's been going well so far, there's no need to bait people on either side.
If people do feel the need, this thread won't be needed.

If you're talking to me, I wasn't trying to bait anybody, and I apologize. That just seems to be how the term is used by people on all sides of a debate.
