WWE has had few if any heel vs. heel feuds. Vince and the creative team are reluctant to book them because "the fans won't have anyone to cheer for."
I think in this era of wresting, there are enough fans who respect the business and the workers in the ring that if you had two heels who were good enough in the ring, the fans would appreciate their work together.

I personally think that a Booker T vs. Ken Kennedy feud would be good stuff...

It really depends on the people involved and the nature of the angle.
Like, take the Triple H vs. Kurt Angle feud in 2000. The fans sorta started to side with Hunter because Angle was trying to steal his wife. The fans became emotionally involved in the angle.
I don't know if it would work in today's WWE, though ... I don't think anyone could pull it off successfully.

Carlito and Masters a few months ago. No clear "face" was picked, the crowd liked Carlito better, Carlito = face.
You have to have a good guy to cheer and a bad guy to boo.

I think in this era of wresting, there are enough fans who respect the business and the workers in the ring that if you had two heels who were good enough in the ring, the fans would appreciate their work together. There is a certain amount of fans that would appreciate two heels working well together. The majority of WWE crowds however are simple and predictable, they would just cheer for the lesser-heel. The bottom line is Vince tells crowds who to cheer for, toss them a fish and see the majority of them clap their fins together.

I would have liked to have seen evil pro Canadian Chris Jericho defending the WWE title against proud, patriotic Kurt Angle in the main event of WM 18. I think that feud would have provided MUCH more enthusiasm and heat from the crowd during that main event than the actual Jericho vs. HHH borefest that occurred instead.

I know that many people here would like it, only because it's "cool" to cheer heels, but really, it is incredibly difficult to pull off. First off, you do need someone in a feud who the fans will side with. If there isn't, then the fans will tune out. Second, both performers need to be good enough on the mic and in the ring to carry it and make the fans care. Third, the danger is that one guy begins to turn to a tweener, and then you don't have heel v. heel anymore.
So while it is possible, it's incredibly unlikely you'll ever see it.

It's not easy to do, but it's not THAT hard, either.
You probably can't have a heel vs. heel blood feud, but a bitter rivalry? Why not, says I.

it could work, just not as a long term feud.
Like when Benoit and Angle first started wrestling together. I believe they were both heels, but eventually fans started cheering for Benoit.
Same thing would have probably happened if the HHH/JBL feud would have ever come to fruition. Question is...who would have fans sided with on that one?

I think it can absolutely work.
This is one thing I can't stand about Buck Woodward from PWI. When 2 heels end up so much as arguing with each other he throws a fit because "NOOOOO TWO HEELS CAN NEVER DO THIS! ILLOGICAL!".
I think it adds more of a sense of realism to wrestling. Just because the fans hate two guys they absolutely have to agree on everything? They have to think the same? They can't disagree?

Well it's not like they certainly haven't thought of it. It's just not really easy to pull off, and you would have to have the right people.
Hell, this year's Summerslam had a segment where Edge and Booker made a muttual bet on each other losing their belts, and at last year's Wrestlemania (or was it the Rumble?) JBL and HHH had a face-off backstage. I'd love to see it, but it has to be done right.

Wasn't the infamous HBK-Hart "Montreal" match a heel vs. heel feud too? Hart was still with the whole "pro canadian/anti american" thing, and HBK was in "DX", which at that time was heel.

Well they somewhat attempted that earlier this year with Finlay and Regal, since Finlays face turn never really got going.

If they had two "cool heels" it could work. Neither would do anything really to get the fans exactly on their side, but just went out there and continued to not care if fans liked them or not. Something similar to an early Stone Cold etc.

The whole 'Gang Wars' debacle: Los Baricuas v Nation of Domination v Disciples of the Apocalypse (Tho greeted with little intrest) seemed to pit heel against heel!

Hollyood Rock vs HHH in 2003 would of worked because the fans would chose heel Rocky over the boring HHH...again.

it could work in a way where both heels are trying to top each other by doing progressivley more dardly things to the face to try to one up each other. Seeing how a lot of the fans who go to the TV tapings are dumb as dirt (outside of the north east smark region and Chicago or northeastern midwest region), it would be a tough trick to pull off.

On paper it's bookable, in reality it's nearly impossible to make it work.
No matter how "heelish" you try ot keep both guys, eventually the crowd will pick a favourite, who'll get cheered, cheap heat notwithstanding.
The only way to prevent people from cheering neither guy, is booking two unlikeable charachters (Khali v Henry it's a good example), but at that point the whole feud would be ignored, and became irrelevant and pointless.
