Was Raven's gimmick that of a satanist when he was in ECW?..I was watching Barely Legal right now and noticed that Raven wore a Satanic goat(Baphomet is what its called I guess) t-shirt with the worlds Cult.
In 97 when wrestling was red hot, was ECW trying to appeal to people who never saw wrestling with its occult gimmicks and weird storylines (Sandman crucifixion which bombed badly)

- Raven's Cult shirt refers to a goth rock band of the same name. So it doesn't refer directly to Raven being a Satanist. Raven did wear a lot of different bad shirts during his tenure (Misfits, Dinosaur Jr, etc).
- The Crucufication angle wasn't deliberate. It was planned last minute by Raven and Sandman, and they (according to both of them) had no idea of the backlash it would cause.

Raven's gimmick was more of an anguished alt cult leader.

Raven's gimmick was more of an anguished alt cult leader. This. Think Seattle Grunge Scene follower meets David Koresh.

Does anyone have any video of Brian Pillman in ECW in the same ring with Taz?
I remember seeing a show on tape where Taz was suplexing everyone that came to the ring and out of nowhere Pillman runs in and the crowd goes wild. But instead of attacking Taz, Pillman rolled out of the ring and beat up some of the jobbers Taz already took care of.
It is a totally random question, but I was wondering if anyone else remembered that happening. I know I'm not too crazy.

"Fire Woman" will always be my favorite Cult song.
I really liked what Raven had to say about the crucifixion angle on the "Forever Hardcore" documentary. When he mentioned originally wanting to put Sandman on a Star Of David.

I suspect that Kevin Sullivan may have played up a cult gimmick when he wrestled briefly for ECW in the early 90s.
