Didn't a few of them in the 90s go to WrestleMania?

Real Answer: Because Disney pays them to. It was a marketing technique first used by Disney during super bowl 21, and they liked it so much that they have made a tradition of it. Another interesting tid bit is that Super Bowl 21 was also the first time players celebrated by dumping Gatoraid on head coach.

If only I could find the clips from Hot Shots! where Topper says that and the guy hands him a wad of cash. Concidentally enough, I thought they just said it for the hell of it, got paid and went. So my eyes decieved me when, low and behold, Drew Brees was being interviewed on Sportscenter, and behind him was Cinderella's castle.

Remember when Jerry Rice made such a stink about not being able to say it even though he was the Super Bowl MVP? He blamed it on being black. Then somebody clued Jerry in on the fact the Redskins' Doug Williams got to say it - and he was black. Only quarterbacks get to say it. Jerry crawled into a hole and shut up after that.

Why do they say it?
...well, nowadays it's because they want to get with the live action versions of the princesses there.

"I'm going to Disneyland!"
"Really? Because I'm a travel agent and I've heard nothing but bad things."
