Danger Mouse gave us my absolute most favorite GTA opening theme ever.
So fitting, and so awesome sounding. Definitely sets the right mood.
So yeah, he and 'Doom are aight in my book.

I personally can't wait for that Broken Bells collaboration between the dude from The Shins and Danger Mouse. That will be quite awesome.

Absolutely. I'd kill for a new Danger Doom collaberation.

I disagree. While there are some great moments, this was Doom's ultimate jumping-the-shark for me. I consider "Operation: Doomsday" a masterpiece, with rapper Zev Love X (of the then long-defunct rap group KMD) returning as MF Doom, a tragic figure who wore a mask to hide his scars. While there were moments of levity, the production emphasized the record as a sad eccentric going through his record collection and remembering a happier time. Doom's most inspired moment ever was from this album, a song called "The Mic" which works both as a standard tale of a thug missing his lady, as well as (seriously, go back and listen to this) the first-person story of a microphone waxing poetic about its owner. (opening line - "I was in a case out-of-state.") Seriously, this is brilliance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5makYYV2VeQDoom's had plenty of great performances since (Madvillainy, Take Me To Your Leader, Vaudeville Villain) but by the time he did 'Dangerdoom,' he dwindled into self-parody. 'Born Like This' is a step back in the right direction.

I've listened to that album 100x since I've bought it and I still love it. The grooves are great and Doom's style fits perfectly with the content. I the wide world of Hip Hop music, if i had any reserves on that album they get a definite pass from me and two thumbs up. The only thing missing is would be a performance of the album sponsored by Cartoon Network in Atlanta so I can attend.

Honestly, even as an adult swim fan, I thought it was a bit forced. The Brak and Shake cameos were great, as it the song about Doom having a late night show, but so much of it just seemed so tacked on. The A.T.H.F. song is the laziest Doom has EVERY sounded, and not in a good way. And the song with Talib, while I like the beat, is sooooooo embarrassing.
Moments where Dangermouse is a minimalist like "Mince Meat" are when the collaboration works. Otherwise, I think it's the least work in either of their catalogs.
You ever hear the album Danger Mouse did with Jemini? It's his best work. Really lush soundscapes.
