Even more from today's Smackdown tapings!
Thanks to 411 reader Andrew Hutchinson for sending these results along!
Dark match: Funaki beat KC James with a sunset flip into a pin. Good fun, crowd was into Funaki and James got some boos too. Shame not see another British wrestler afer Doug Williams last night.
Miz was in the ring as the show started with Kristal for a handicap match vs the Boogeyman. Virtually no wrestling, then Miz got kicked out of the ring, and Boogeyman spat worms all over Kristal. Seemingly forgetting he could have pinned her for the win, Boogeyman then got out of the ring, everyone stood confused for a while then his music played. Garbage first segment.
Bit forgetful of the order of backstage segments but think the first one was Sharmell hailing King Booker. Finlay interrupted and didn't seem too happy about having to tag with the King of England. Booker said to Finlay to take care of Lashley and he would take care of the rogue Batista.
Chris Benoit beat Tatanka with the Sharpshooter. OK match, Benoit is so quick around the ring. I'd never appreciated it so much as I did tonight. Tatanka looked fat and slow though he drew some heat, particularly from kids. Chavo came out and attacked Benoit with a chair to the knee after the match.
Kennedy came on the big screen and cut a very cool promo about how he was going to end the career of Taker where it began at Survivor Series. The best promo I saw in the last two nights of wrestling, just edging out CM Punk.
Teddy Long sees Kane in the back and trying to psych him up to kill MVP in the street fight. Kane said nothing the whole time, just stared.
Bobby Lashley came to see Teddy Long backstage and Teddy wished him luck in ECW and said the door was always open on SD. Lashley thanked Teddy for all the opportunities he has given him. Manly hugs all round. Lashley has his farewell SD match tonight with Batista vs King Booker and Finlay.
William Regal beat Paul London. This was a fun match. London can go with a guy like Regal and while it wasn't the longest match it was pretty good. At one point Regal sidestepped London and London went out of the ring and crashed into Ashley. He was distracted from there and Regal finished him with a running knee lift. Kendrick came down to tend to Ashley and London after the match. Paul London sold the knee to the head brilliantly (unless it actually hurt him!!) Regla got a great reception tonight despite heeling it up a bit during the match.
Kane vs MVP in a street fight got decent time. It was far more a brawl than a match, Kane dominating for the most part. At one point he shoved MVP in a telephone box and pushed it over to a good pop. MVP got a cheap win when back in the ring Kennedy came down and helped MVP knock Kane out with the ring steps. Of course, Taker came down to a huge pop and the Brothers chased of the heels. Kennedy then threw MVP back in to take a double choke slam. Taker stared down Kennedy and they left MVP in the ring. A few minutes later MVP claimed he would need plastic surgery to his face. A doctor would later tell him he was fine and Teddy Long would make a steel cage match for next week: MVP vs Kane.
Matt Hardy beat Gregory Helms. Pretty standard match we are getting used to seeing. Helms would hit what used to be the Eye of the Hurricane, missed a Shining Wizard and fell victim to the Twist of Fate for the three count. A lot of (young) Hardy fans in the audience.
The main event tag match went to Batista and Lashley after a spinebuster to Booker by Batista. Ironically Lashley did a much better (AA style) spinebuster on Finlay earlier in the match. Batista and Lashley used almost identical moves as one another through the match. They even looked like a real team. The main event got decent time and Batista in particular got a good pop. Booker drew good heel heat as well.
In other off screen fun, Michael Cole got three guys in the ring to sing football chants. His mentions of both Manchester United and Manchester City got booed. He didn't really know how to react. Later on, when Chimel was throwing out T shirts Big Dick Johnson came out and got nearly naked and oiled up Chimel. They got kore fans in the ring to dance then too. Afterwards Chimel looked seriously pissed off and was yelling at the security, camer crew and possibly fans as well.
After the main event, Batista and Lashley chased of the heels and Little Bastard, then posed down. Then Lashley left and Batista entertained his way. Like DX on Monday night he was very appreciative of the crowd.

- I love it, Micheal Cole tries the old cheap pop with english football teams, but gets booed as he is in manchester ... mentioning United probably wasn't a good idea ... ;D
