Bourne's been jobbing a lot lately. But at the same time, he's been making everyone he's been jobbing to look really good with his unique style of selling his opponents offense. And by that, I mean everything the other guy does looks like it totally kills him. I swear, after taking that bicycle kick from Sheamus last night, he should get a pear of break away boots, just to put an exclamation point on it. So, do you think they're going to FE the guy, or do you think he'll be like Val Venis?

The way he was acting last night, he eerily reminded me off Jeff Hardy when he was challenging Undertaker over and over again for the title.
My first thought was Vince seeing Jeff on Impact, seeing Bourne walk down the hall and asking him, "Hey, do you wanna be Jeff Hardy from now on?"

He does crazy spots and has just about the same mic skills. Anyway, I see Bourne lasting a while. It was the first time we ever heard him speak, and he didn't sound to bad, he was like Cody without the lisp or looking like a raccoon. I could see him being an underdog champion one day.

He actually played that role really well in OVW. Way better than Mysterio did. I think that for as much as he's putting guys over, he should get a good midcard title run at the very least.

I think he did well last night, and was able to execute his finishing move (albeit it wasn't for a victory) and got some mic time. All in all, a decent (squash) showing for him. Hopefully it leads to a more prominent role on RAW or Smackdown instead of being the residential jobber.

I liked it. A smaller guy showing moxy against the big dominant champion. I would find it really strange if they released him now. It was a neat little segment that put a bit of a spotlight on him.
It's not like Kendrick's last night where he got obliterated by Kofi immediately after the bell rang.

I think he'll last awhile. Don't forget he's still in that whole ECW Homecoming thing.
And it's not like he's been jobbing to guys that aren't high on the card. The last few weeks he's had matches with Legacy, and Sheamus. He hasn't been completely obliterated. He's gotten offense in, and has been made to look good. Hell, they had me fooled last night, I thought he was going to squash Sheamus.

I liked the fakeout last night. Really did seem he had it in the bag, but they pulled one over on us.

With the mounting injuries of Mysterio, Bourne might get the role of never say die highflying babyface.

Unless he asks for a release they aren't going to get rid of him for at least 3 years. I do see him moving to Smackdown in the draft and getting some shine.

Bourne is great at what he does, they have no reason to release him any time soon.
I also think that he's just one decent push away from the fans really getting into him too, any time they want to do it.

He's not going anywhere anytime soon. Count on it. He may disappear for a couple months doing nothing, but he has a long WWE career ahead of him.

I see him kind of being the next Scotty Too Hottie. Over enough that the crowd is hot for him but just there to make the other guys look good. He'll be around for a long long time.

Bourne looked really good in the ring last night, and cut the first not-awkward promo of his career. I don't think he's going anywhere.

If he's not released in 3 months, then they obviously have some sort of plan for his remaining run.

Released? Why?
Just because someone loses a lot doesn't mean that they're on the road to Futureendeavoursville. Look at Tommy Dreamer. A career jobber - he spent six of his eight years in the WWE looking at the lights. And he had to ask for his release.
Funaki has spent nine of his eleven years as a full time JTTS. He's still on the payroll.
Helms and Chavo have been there eight years, and apart from a couple of nice midcard runs, all they've really done is put people over and make people look great while they do it.
There are a lot of roles in wrestling, and one of those is rarely winning and making people look a million dollars in the process. As Brock Ness Monster said on the other thread "It doesn't hurt things that Bourne sells everything like he's just been hit by a truck. He almost pinned himself after that bicycle kick. And it's because of this fact that he'll have a job in the WWE for many years to come. But I loved the heat that Sheamus was getting tonight. It was legit heel heat, and there was a lot of it. "
Apart from that, look at what the WWE have in Bourne.
He has the most over finisher in the 'E - that's not just because it looks great, but because the announcers (whether Lawler & Cole or Matthews & Striker before him) put it over. Hoe many times in Bourne's first year did you hear an announcer say, "if you've never seen this kid before, just watch him, and watch out for the Shooting Star Press"? It was seemingly ever week. The fact he the most over finisher is amazing considering how seldom he wins.
He gets great pops, works his ass off, makes his opponent look like a star, sells like no-one since Ricky Freaking Morton (and maybe better, Ricky Morton looks like he gets knocked out, Evan Bourne crumples into a heap like he's broken half the bones in his body), single handedly makes Sheamus look more legit than Goldust, Shelton, Noble and even John Cena have put together - in the space of four minutes - and we have eight people think he'll be released by the end of the year?
As long as he doesn't become a twat backstage, Evan Bourne will be there as long as he wants. He'll get the occasional midcard push, the occasional shock win, to make him a real underdog (rather than Misterio's underdog who always wins, so isn't really an underdog act), to keep him over. and he'll get TV time every week. In that respect, he's sort of in the 1-2-3 Kid's spot.
It would be nice to see him get a few more PPV slots though. If I were booking the Elimination Chamber, I'd book Evan Borune into it through an underdog victory (over someone like Swagger or The Miz), because you know he'll put on a great show, and help elevate someone else.
And somehow, the more he elevates others, the more he elevates himself.
