I kind of think this too. Their feud ended a little early I think, and Kofi lost the last match. It would be cool to see Kofi in a main event at WM. Kofi has lost their last three encounters, 4 out of their 5 and, 2 clean as a whistle. Exactly and his face heat isn't there anymore.

I don't think too many people would look forward to seeing Kofi main eventing Wrestlemania. The crowd just isn't into him to headline wrestlemania. I'm not into it either. I think Kofi and Orton closing Wrestlemania would be a total dud, as bad as last year. I'm sure not a lot of people were into Batista main eventing a WrestleMania after he won the Rumble in 2005 but that was anything BUT a dud. The key is the build. WWE has about 3 months to build Kofi up as legit. I like Sheamus vs Orton.

It's an intriguing idea, and I'm trying to take the "wait and see" approach, but I just can't help but think that Cena's gonna get himself inserted into a triple threat, and BOOM, there's your new Champion. Bingo...this is what I thought when I read about it...

I'm not into it either. I think Kofi and Orton closing Wrestlemania would be a total dud, as bad as last year. look at the other options: HHH vs Sheamuse (an even bigger dud), Cena vs Orton (Seen it a million times), so i guess the only other option is Cena vs Sheamus

Its certainly a very interesting prospect.
I guess this means Cena will be in the Rumble though, if so I'm predicting he wins it.

I missed Raw. Did they mention anything about Randy Orton not being able to get a title shot if it's against Cena? I just think the outcome of the match may depend on how much focus they put on Orton finally getting another title match (even though it hasn't even been that long to begin with).

I got the feeling Orton was going to win based on the vibe I got from his entrance tonight before the match. Maybe it was the low angle shots or something, but ever since last week, I think WWE has been trying to show him for the big deal he hasn't been used as in a while. Sort of this towering threat, rather than a coward versus Cena and Kofi. If I had to guess, I'd say the title match will have Legacy running interference, but Ted botching it. That's set up the "Ted turns face" deal alright, Sheamus retains, and Orton doesn't lose clean. I could be wrong, though, just the way I see it playing out.
Cena not being in the title match would make sense, since they might want him to win the Rumble this year. It'd fit the whole "I'm not giving you another title match." thing he has going with Sheamus.

I'm really hoping that Orton punts his head into the stands and takes the title. F*** Sheamus and his ass-kiss push.

WWE has about 3 months to build Kofi up as legit. I like Sheamus vs Orton. That worked for many reason than just building up someone. Going into the rumble fans were more into Batista than they are Kofi. 1. Batista winning the rumble meant he was going to face the Raw or SD champ. One of which is his mentor and is in the same group. 2. HHH tried everything he could to get Batista to face JBL. But Batista caught on to that act. Batista does the thumbs down and turns on HHH. 3. Unlike Kofi-Orton, HHH and Batista never wrestled each other. (maybe once on SD when Bats was with Devon). Kofi-Orton has wrestled enough. 4. Batista was over enough to carry a brand, Kofi is nowhere near that. Just listen to his reaction (or lack there of) the last couple of weeks. Kofi is most likly MITB bound.

I just can't see Sheamus main eventing WM. If he does retain at RR he'll lose it at No Way Out (or elimination chamber if that's the new name of it). You just can't have that guy headlining your biggest PPV already.

I wonder what they would do with Orton as a face? I think their best hope is to fashion him after Stone Cold Steve Austin playing up the unpredictable lone wolf that can strike at any moment thing that was at the heart of Austin's character once you get passed the language and booze and middle fingers. They even have similar finishers, and Orton has two "deadly" finishers that can suddenly strike at any time. Hell, call him the St. Louis Serpent if you wanna sell some shirts. They can make Orton a huge ass-kicking face, but it will require creativity and subtlety.

All it would really require is for him to start attacking heels as often as faces, stop acting like a coward, and to stop insulting the audience. That's all they did with Steve Austin.

Yeah but they used Bret Hart going from hero to heel to really cement it. Bret's heel turn brewed for a full year before pulling the trigger at WM 13. Without the double turn with Bret, Austin's never get over the way he did. The fans were looking for someone new to cheer and Austin just naturally fit into the void that Bret Hart left. That's why I think they need to use John Cena in Bret Hart's old role of the ultimate good guy getting sick of bearing the burden of being that guy and starting to complain and lose his temper.

Orton's definitely over enough that the fans would cheer him if he turned face-- but WWE has considerably more established main event babyfaces than heels already, and turning him would leave a significant void on the roster.
Edge, the other top heel of the last couple years, is pretty much guaranteed to be a babyface when he comes back (the pop he'll get is going to be so huge that he could be reintroduced beating up kittens while having a Live Sex Celebration with Vickie Guerrero and still get cheered). The next highest guy is probably Jericho, and he's mainly been played for laughs lately, which lends credence to the rumours that he's going to be taking time off after 'Mania.
Which leaves... Batista, who's got plenty of kayfabe credibility and turned recently enough that his inevitable feuds with Cena and HHH will feel fairly fresh. He's a good candidate for 2010's major main event heel. Punk, as much as the IWC might wish otherwise, doesn't really seem to be considered by WWE as a long term prospect in the main event scene, at least not yet. Big Show hasn't come across as a serious threat in years. Sheamus is getting built up, as could potentially happen with Miz and Rhodes/Dibiase, but it's a bit early for any of them to be the main villain of either brand.
Maybe it's my inner mark talking, but I'd be more intrigued to see Sheamus (who's a dick but still generally wins his matches fairly) played up as the tweener/face against Orton. He's still such a blank slate that I think the crowds could buy the idea.

I think Cena will be added to the match, and praying that leads to an Orton title win and a Kofi Rumble win.

Here's the vibe on Raw that I got:
After the Priceless promo where Ted started acting like he was better than Cody, the late run-in was staged to build dissention in the ranks of Legacy. Next week, Orton's going to be pissed at Ted after picking up his Oscar for his pissed off performance this week that fooled everyone. This will lead to Orton/Sheamus at the Rumble, where Cody will distract the ref, Ted will go in with a chair, fake the Sheamus whack and nail Orton, setting up Orton/DiBiase at Mania. Cena's going to win the Rumble and get the belt back at Mania...but which belt will he be getting back? If Cena goes the Undertaker route, HBK will probably want the title shot, since he didn't get his shot at the Undertaker.

I can already tell that Cena's gonna get inserted into this match next week because of Legacy interfering.
Seriously, he'll win all his matches up to that point, go to the Rumble and lay someone's ass down for the 3 second tan, Appledoof, new champion, more yelling and shilling and all that garbage.

Heel v.s. heel doesn't usually work out too well.
