He isnt exactly 'over' with the crowd anymore, judging by the last few weeks..

He isnt exactly 'over' with the crowd anymore, judging by the last few weeks.. He's got all the markings of a guy who's had the legs cut out from underneath him and the crowd, even the marks, has picked up on this. He never got his big signature win over Orton and that killed his momentum.

I have no idea. When he was given the win at Survivor Series I thought they were about to springboard him up a level to a place like Punk was back in the Spring and Summer. Instead it's been treated like a fluke and Orton has whooped his ass from TLC to Raw last night. It's what I said I was afraid of it becoming a few weeks ago. MVP/Mark Henry/Jack Swagger version 2.0. Tease a push, then CRUSH HIM. The only guy in recent memory to get a teased push and be treated like a total jobber only to somehow recover is Miz. The others haven't come close.
The only way they pull him out of this now to me is to have Orton win the belt at the Rumble, Kofi win the Rumble itself, and have him beat Orton in one of the semi-mains at Wrestlemania. Otherwise .. what now? Orton has more than proven Kofi isn't on his level in any way, so I can't see him just pushing his way in to the main event.
I don't know what went wrong, but the train on this push and feud seriously came soaring off the tracks some time after November.

His momentum has stalled due to a couple losses to Orton, but I wouldn't write him off. All it will take is another segment like the brawl they had which got the crowd behind Kofi in the first place. If Orton wins the title and Kofi challenges him, I'm sure something like that is exactly what we'll get. I think the Orton/Kofi feud is sort of on the backburner at the moment but I don't think it's over. There's just other stuff going on right now, with Bret Hart's return, the US title feud, the Jericho/DX feud, etc. Plus they needed a break from Cena/Sheamus and Orton was a logical choice to fill that role, so naturally he needs a break from the Kofi feud in order to do that.

I don't know about this. As I said before, I don't think the crowds were really muying his push. Everytime Kofi was in the ring with Orton, the crowd were cheering for Orton and booing Kofi. I don't know if it's because they aren't used to him at that level but I do think that there is something wrong with marks.

Another thing I just realized, I think the reason Orton's gotten the upper hand against Kofi lately is to look strong going into his match against Sheamus, not to end Kofi's push.

Kofi has dropped the ball as well. The blame can't go to everyone but Kofi. Creative didn't help or tear Kofi down by itself.

It's because he isn't wearing pants! WWE fans do not like a wrestler who enters a ring shirtless with pants then takes off his pants once he enters the ring. It looks like he is going to strip naked right in front us. At least with his track jacket, it didn't look so bad.
Actual for serious answer. Just read MGH post above. Couldn't said it any better. Well except he should wear pants or shorts.

Kofi needs to get away from the top guys as soon as possible and get some solid midcard wins. He isn't over right now because he's gotten jobbed so hard and clean to Orton lately that it can't help but wreck his momentum. Also, a solid 30+ minutes in the Rumble would help him, then he can win a MITB qualifier and be in position to win it this time.

I think it's all his fault. They gave him a couple of wins and he was the soul survivor in his Survivor Series team, he pinned 2 world champs in under 10 seconds in CM Punk and Orton himself. And he got the Conway Pop to the extreme last night. I felt bad for him, man.

To be fair man, he was exactly getting huge pops since he beat Orton with the fast three count that time. The crowd was giving a reaction to Cena, Jericho, Orton, MVP, DX and The Miz. It was kinda bad seeing him get all hyped up and the crowd completely no-selling it. I fear this is the end for Kofi. He got his push, it wasn't exactly successful, if he doesn't win the Rumble. He's screwed and will be fighting over the US title again or even worse, released. He did mess up Orton's spot last night... and you know what happened to Kennedy...

As far as the crowd reaction goes, I'll give you that; the crowd definitely wasn't into Kofi during that match as much (little?) as they were for everyone else. I still can't blame Kofi for his push blowing up in his face, though. To me, that looks like a direct result of crap booking. Crowds were totally behind him from the night he trashed Orton's stock car (even cutting a great promo that could've been disastrous when he slipped twice and got paint on his face), and they were ecstatic to see him put Orton through that table, but they pretty much lost faith in the feud when Kofi lost, what, three times to Orton? Kofi needed a win badly, and with Orton already having 144 losses under his belt for 2009, I can't understand why he didn't get at least one. I see that as more of a mistake on WWE's part, not Kofi's. Hopefully, between his miscue at MSG and supposedly blowing the punt spot last night, they don't see a reason to completely derail Kofi's push, because I think it can still be salvaged.

For me, I was really excited when Kofi destroyed the car. Really excited at MSG. But also for me, the entire feud from Orton's side was "Let me hurry and swat this fly so I can get back to my real feuds." It was almost one-sided. Still would've been fine, but Orton dominates the matches. Kofi got his attention with backstage antics and run-ins, but couldn't keep it by getting it done when it counted. Kofi gets a cheap fast count win that somehow became more about Orton/Cuban than Orton/Kofi? Great. Even in a triple threat match, Kofi takes the loss against Orton.
Of couse people have given up on the push. We've all seen this movie before. In fact we've seen it a lot, and the ending sucks. Can't blame people for getting up and leaving the theater earlier and earlier each time.

Kofi will be the "MVP" of '09. And by that, I mean what happened to MVP last year will happen to him this year.
