This seems to be happining a lot lately. I have heard in the past that things like this would be done to test guys. Give them a push and a taste of sucess then take it away and see what reaction you get from them. Maybe Steph has heard this also and has decided to try it on everyone.

All I know is his last 3 matches with Orton, TLC, Jan 4th and last night, Kofi has not gotten the crowd behind him. He screwed up that promo last night by letting the fans get to him, then botched the finish in the match after missing a few spots during the match. I think Kofi might be getting exposed. I never thought much of him as a wrestler but I was willing to buy the push, but between Kofi and creative it just hasn't gone well. MVP and Miz deserve the spots that Sheamus and Kofi are in right now.

The fans aren't buying it, and honestly, I don't blame them.
It wasn't a great crowd, but it wasn't as godawful as is being made out. Cena got reactions, as did Orton, as did DX, as did even the acclaimed MVP/Miz promo. Kofi got deafening silence, both in the opening and whenever he was supposed to do something big in the match itself.
And it's not the booking, either. They made Kofi look like a million bucks at MSG and at Survivor Series, not two months ago. This is an Austin/Bret like feud. They've made Kofi look MUCH stronger than anyone expected, even when losing. Hell, the fact that we could get a Cena/Orton/Kofi triple threat at all this week, and have Kofi treated as an underdog but still a viable contender at all, is a sign of how far they've pushed him.
The fans marked for Kofi as a midcarder, even as an underdog going up against Orton at first, but they're not buying him in the Jeff Hardy-like role WWE is trying to build him into. And as much as I too want to see the Cena/HHH/Orton main event stranglehold end, I have to admit that I don't think Kofi has it in him, at least not yet.

I think it's all his fault. They gave him a couple of wins and he was the soul survivor in his Survivor Series team, he pinned 2 world champs in under 10 seconds in CM Punk and Orton himself. And he got the Conway Pop to the extreme last night. I felt bad for him, man. Exactly.

I doubt there were ever any bigger plans for Kofi in store. He was just used to give Orton something to do while he couldn't challenge Cena for the WWE title.

Orton knocked him back down to reality, and I approve.

Kofi needs to follow HHH to the gym and then ask him if he neeeds a spotter. He'll have the belt in a few months.
