WRESTLING diva Kelly Kelly has opened up about the death of ex-lover Andrew “Test” Martin last year.
The ring babe gave the Daily Star Sunday her first British interview on his shock demise after a drugs overdose.
On a UK promotional tour before next weekend’s Royal Rumble, WWE queen Kelly said she welcomed having the opportunity to talk about her former pro-wrestler lover.
She said: “I like to talk about him – to tell the world how great a man he was. He was a big part of my life, we were together for two-and-a- half years. When I first started, Andrew looked after me.
“We were there together, we had some good times and some hard times – he wanted more than anything to be healthy.
“I honestly could not say enough about him – he was the love of my life.
“Not a day goes by when I don’t think about Andrew. He was an amazing person who had so much love to give the world – he loved wrestling.”
Martin, 33, was found dead in his Florida apartment last March.
A coroner blamed his death on an overdose of painkiller Oxycodone.
Kelly, 22, was not in a relationship with Martin at the time of his death but says she has devoted her life to the ring
ever since. And with her hectic WWE schedule she’s hardly had a moment to grieve for her ex-boyfriend. Kelly said:
“We’re on the road for the same amount of time as the guys, I know we don’t have to wrestle 25-minute matches like the guys but we travel 200 to 300 miles a night exactly the same as them.
“But this is my life – I’ve been doing it since I was 18 so by now I’m used to it! I’m young and I have no plans to settle down!”
While in London, the Floridian fox had some warm words for fellow ring vamp Katie Lea Burchill, who wrestled in Britain before making a big-money move to the States three years ago.
Kelly said: “I learned a lot from her – she is an amazing wrestler.”
And despite the women’s game’s “boobs and teeth” reputation, Kelly denies the girls are only eye candy.
Kelly insists she’s not just a pretty face.
“We’re all good-looking girls but we want to be seen as legitimate athletes and not just pretty faces.
“We’ll prove to the world that we do belong in there with the guys.”
