I always wondered about this, but when do the wrestlers have time to workout when they are on the road about 5 days a week? It seems to me they wouldn't have much time to stay in shape when they always have to go to one town to the next almost everyday. It just seems hard to believe that some of the guys stay in the shape (Batista especially) they are in especially with the so called "drug testing", when it seems they don't have enough time to stay in that shape. So how do you think they do it?

Every town has a gym and most of them would just let a wrestler come in and use the facilities for free. Lots of hotels have workout areas too.

I remember Batista saying in his book that Kane was like a walking encyclopedia when it came to gyms.
Whatever state, town or city they were in, if he asked Kane he could tell him where the closest gym was, what time they were open til and even what the facilities were like.
I'm guessing with that kind of experience on board and a strict schedule to work to, a wrestler can make sure he has time for his workouts. It's such an important part of their look.

Just by following Mickie's Twitter, she's usually in a local gym every morning. Sometimes if she's in a new city, she'll ask people on Twitter which gym to go to. I'd imagine they're in there for about an hour or two.

Also worth noting that their job pretty much entails a heavy workout every couple of days. Storm said that it got to the point in parts of his career where he barely had to hit the gym because he was already usually worked out by being in the ring so much.

Jericho does look to be in not so great of shape anymore. I mean he doesn't look awful, but you can tell he hasn't been working out as hard.

I remember a friend of Triple H's...think it may have been Nash, definitely not Shawn or Flair, saying around 2002-2003 that his body 'looked like crap' because he was so busy and hadn't been able to do a proper workout for many months.
That was during the period where Hunter looked to have bulked up far too much, it was screwing up his movement and stamina. When the muscle definition went, he just ended up looking a bit tubby.

Usually the wrestlers head to the next town after that night's performance, hit the hotel, get up around 9-10, check out, hit the gym, maybe scuttlebutt around town some, perhaps do some promotional stuff, then off to the show. When you do it 5 days a week, it gets pretty routine.

Lots of people that workout regularly have a training split, "on days" and "off days" in which they'll workout x number of days and then take x number of days off before restarting their routine again. This is to give the body a chance to rest.
Someone, may have been Bob Holly, said a lot of guys don't schedule an off day from their training. Since it's pretty much impossible to hit the gym everyday on the road, if they can't make it to the gym on a certain day it's considered the off day, and their training resumes where they left off the next day.

Storm said that it got to the point in parts of his career where he barely had to hit the gym because he was already usually worked out by being in the ring so much. I bet that's only true for a guy like Lance Storm, because he actually watched his diet on the road. Take a look at him in his career - he didn't get like that just through workouts. He also watched his diet.

They also are able to stop at 24-hour gyms they are members of on the road. Chains like Anytime Fitness offer them not only a chance to train and to break up the monotony of a late-night drive, but it also allows them to work out with a much smaller chance of having tons of people gathering around them. I remember a poster about a year ago saying he'd been working out past midnight and all of a sudden Kane and Goldust walked into the gym and started hitting the weights.
