Love this show, I didn't watch it during it's original run but I am loading up on the re-runs on Nick At Nite right now. Anybody else a fan of this show? ;D

I find that all my white friends don't get him at all, my Hispanic friends love him. I think his stand up is awesome and his show is pretty entertaining.
EDIT: As far as his stand-up, it might be that whole "It's funny cause it's true." thing. I understand why certain people would not relate to his act.

I think partly because I was of a generation where it was still ok for white kids to be whooped. I was the last generation of that. Whoopin' a Mexican kid never goes out of style. Gotta love how much parenting styles vary.

Everything he says is exactly what my nephew is like, including the Lunchables. ;D My older brothers grew up very much like George did if not poorer, and my generation was somewhere in the middle. Although I still eat wienies with tortillas to this day. Who is that girl in your avatar btw?

Hey; here's my George Lopez impersonation: *screams incoherently with some Spanish thrown in!*. Thank you. Can I have my own sub-standard sitcom now? Y'know, if people keep coming into appreciation threads and spouting off, I'm going to start changing parts of their profile.

Who is that girl in your avatar btw? I know who it is, so, I got this! It's Serinda Swan she's played Zatanna in a couple of episodes of Smallville. I think she looks like Megan Fox, except she's a better actress. I like George Lopez, I found it like I did Reba. Just had the television on a rerun and laughed. I'll catch it from time to time. I don't mind his standup, either.

I believe this is one fo the best sitcoms of all time. Its one of the rare uniform sitcoms that take the sentimental and emotional plot lines that other sitcoms (roseanne etc) use to bring us down and makes fun of it.
Father in law just got a divorce? no need for upsetting tone Wapah!
But without a doubt the best ever is the episode where Jason's handicapped brother takes a candid photo of Mrs. Lopez and George sits down with is fist held out "Fair fight, roll into this" and Angie says "I want to tie your arms behind your back and push you into a pool"
Great show....

Yeah that's a great episode, especially when Max is on the computer "the one that says makin' bacon! "oh Max they're not playing leapfrog they're *george punches Ernie* ooh! ;D EDIT - eman I could've sworn that was Mila Kunis in your avatar, it looks a lot like her to me.

Also, so I don't go completely off topic, one of my favorite George phrases. FTP!

Look up Serinda Swan on youtube and watch her modeling videos. She really doesn't look much like Mila. She has a bit more vaaavoom.

I'm 100% Latino (though Puerto Rican, not Mexican) and can attest to the fact that nearly all of the jokes in Lopez's most recent two CDs are:
1) f***ing brilliant. and 2) Absolutely true.
I'm a huge GL fan, and Lopez Tonight is actually a very good late night show. It's laid back even though it often feels like it's taking place in an arena. Regardless, the man can do no wrong, in my eyes. Well, except Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
