The wait is almost over, the current gen is roughly halfway through and we are on the cusp of FINALLY getting the first true Final Fantasy title of the generation. So who's excited?

I'm....................not.
I'm gonna get it eventually, but I'm just not into it anymore. It's been so long, it just won't live up to the hype.
Plus, I'm a little pissed at it because its release cut into Japanese sales of the game in my avatar BIG TIME. Enough to actually hurt the chances of it getting an American release.

Kind of their fault for releasing around the time of FF13. FF13 was in Japan what Modern Warfare 2 was in the West. The media event of the year. You'd have to be stupid or extremely confident in your product selling to release around a major gaming release.

I mean, the series usually sells well in Japan and probably will with time, but.........come on. Releasing anything the same MONTH as a new Final Fantasy AND a new Mario is a death wish.

I missed out on 12 when it came out and never got around to playing it. Once I finish Mass Effect 1 & 2 i'm all over this bad boy.

I uh dont have an X-Box360 or a Playstation 3 yet.But when I eventually do,say 6 months after Playstation 4 or X-box version 3 come out,I have one question:The combat system will be better then 12 right? If i wanted my combat to be like a mmorpg,Id be playing one.Just give me a turn based system or FFX's system, just not that damn sphere grid!.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned on how this game is suppose to be really linear.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned on how this game is suppose to be really linear. it's a final fantasy game, it's kind of implied.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned on how this game is suppose to be really linear. Just in the beginning but in the middle it opens up alot. Really looking forward to it and from what I've played *Which is a fair bit* I love the characters.

From what I heard, it is linear in the beginning, opens up a bit mid way through, but then becomes linear again, and that a good majority of the content that was cut from the game(SE said they cut enough content, level wise, to create an entire game with the scraps) came from the part of the game that opened up a bit.

Jeez.

Jeez. Well, kind of. Versus and Agito didn't start development till relatively recently(Versus didn't start until last year in earnest), so while they made three games out of what they planned for FF13, this is actual game levels already made on the cutting room floor. Oh, and good on Square-Enix! They aren't releasing any DLC for FF13.

Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect 2 have all shown how an RPG can do DLC. Granted, all of those games are Western RPGs and are made by just two companies, Bethesda and BioWare, but still, RPGs can do DLC. You could add Borderlands, but I don't view that as an RPG. It is a loot horder, like the Diablo games. The main goal is the items you collect.

I'm excited for it... I wish I had a next gen system. However, the Xbox 360 has a pretty sweet deal for the FFXIII bundle... The Game, System, 250gig hard drive, 2 wireless controllers, 400 bucks... pretty fair deal. Might break down this time.

I absolutely can't wait for it. Everything about it seems like it's going to be incredible, and the linearity thing doesn't really bother me, considering what I've heard about how it opens up later. Someone from Destructoid said that he actually got lost later in the game because of how much it opens up.
Either way, I'm damned excited, and I hope I can get it the night it releases. If not, no big deal, I'll get it later, but still...I am crazy excited.

All so Szah story is pure depression. Good god I thought he was going to be just an annoying comic relief character but I was pretty damn wrong.

Yeah, I thought Szah would be just a "token black comedy character" ala Barret in FF7. But all these trailers since TGS have been showing the exact opposite. If anything, he might have the most engaging story in the game! It's enough to make me want to use him as my player character.
