Hello and welcome to the new official thread for everything PlayStation related. Discuss PS3, PS2 and PSP games, post your PSN IDs, and stuff. Since it was requested by Koda on the last page of the previous thread, here's the fancy God of War III Ultimate Edition box again: Now, I don't personally give a crap about God of War, but I'm sure many of you guys reading this do. So there you go.

I'd get it too...if I gave a rats ass about God of War.
By the way, I just uploaded my first Tekken 6 ghost this morning. My (I think) 15-2 5th Kyu Lee ghost. The outfit is either the closest thing I can get to Violet or the black Aristocrat shirt.

It's a really good game, the only downside is the online, worst online fighting game I've ever played

So, basically, as a whole package, single player & online combined, BlazBlue is the best fighting game this year?
At least from what I've heard about the other games.
SF4 is....iffy.
KoF12 just...just...flat out sucks.
Tekken 6 has great single player and amazing same system vs. but the online sucks.
BlazBlue has perfect online, perfect same system vs., and perfect single player.

I may be behind, but I haven't been checking for games lately, but I noticed that they changed the PS3 game cases.
Why? They looked fine before, and frankly, I think the new logo sucks and don't want to look at a game with it on it.

KoF12 just...just...flat out sucks. Tekken 6 has great single player and amazing same system vs. but the online sucks. BlazBlue has perfect online, perfect same system vs., and perfect single player. The best overall package is BlazBlue, but I still think Tekken 6 is the better game. Let's not kid ourselves, Street Fighter 4 had alot of hype and it might have been next to impossible to meet it, but it really wasn't even close. I was supremely disappointed in it myself and had it sold back to Gamestop within two weeks of the release date when I got it. The game felt nothing at all like past Street Fighter games, the final boss really only had four moves in general, all of which were high-priority moves it spammed to hell even on the easiest difficulties and {Spoiler}then all that to challenge Akuma and Gouken and to double perfect both of them with no real effort. I was PISSED when that happened. BlazBlue I am just getting really worn out on...plus I really have to wonder what people would think if the online didn't run so well. I'd sell it back to Gamestop if I didn't own the Limited Edition (and all the stuff that goes with it) that's supposedly going to be worth big money. KoFXII...I dunno, never played it. I've only played KoF94 on the Virtual Console and that's it. Closest i've ever been otherwise are Capcom vs. SNK 1 and 2...man, if only they would have made the right move and put CvS2 on PSN and XBLA. Tekken 6's online is not very good, but the fact it has leaderboards and downloadable ghosts is rather cool to me. Plus the ghosts are pretty accurate. I downloaded my own ghost and ran into it in the Ghost Battle mode...it threw a few moves I didn't even know and was a little slower than I really play but the strategy was there (always trying for either quick 2-4 hit combos or sending them airborne). I WOULD say they will fix it soon, but they never really fixed Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection online and that was out for ages so...but all the same, it's a blast.

Ok, Demon's Souls is an extremely frustrating game, yet I find myself enjoying it immensely.
The game is absolutely unforgiving. It's designed for you to die a lot. Thus far, it seems that there is no difficulty curve. I'm not very far yet, but the basic enemies in the beginning are the basic enemies I've encountered after the first boss. The enemies all respawn after you die, but you get to keep all the items and if you've done certain things in the stage, like open gates, they remain open.
That makes it a very interesting set-up, because you can skip ahead via gates or new paths if you've unlocked them earlier. With most games like this, I'd probably have several different variants of my main weapon and different types of armor, but that doesn't seem to be the case. So far it's not like a normal RPG in those terms. I've collected different weapons and could even get to a point where I could buy different armor, but none of them was better than my initial stuff (and if it was, I couldn't use it for whatever reason).
Like I said, it has no difficulty curve. I truly think you're not expected to be able to beat monsters that you can come across early in the game at all. One example of this is a dragon that's guarding one portion of the first level. It sits on its perch and blows fire at you if you come too close. It's guarding several items you can rush to get. But you can't really fight it. Not very well at least. I don't know if you're expected to be able to later either.
So far the most frustrating thing, aside from the unforgiving nature, is the souls. They're your currency for everything, which makes it incredibly frustrating when you die, because you lose them all. You can get them back if you go back to the spot where you died and touch the bloodstain, but if you died in a tricky part, you may not make it back there. If you die without touching it, it disappears, leaving you with none.
It's a challenge, but it so far seems to more manageable with it. A lot of "difficult" games are such because they made it cheap. Even though I've died a lot, I just can't say that I've found much of it to be cheap. I've died mostly to normal enemies that I've had trouble figuring out. I'd recommend it if you like dungeon crawlers and can find it.

R&C did those moon levels before SMG actually.
And my PS3 died today, 3rd time since I got it two years ago.

Reading the Game Informer before the Mickey one, the costume that Gamestop has looks like the original version of Kratos, before they decided to remove the armor to add more emotion.

I take it you haven't seen the bonus features on the first God of War game, have you? All 3 of those skins were early Kratos designs. Kratos had HUNDREDS of early designs before they settled on his look. Hell, one version of him looked like a wondering samurai with a baby on his back ala Lone Wolf & Cub. He even had a katana in his hands.
